[QUOTE="danduron"]IP stands for Intelligent Property i believe? but yes, it's basically a new series or individual game.
Personally, I LOVED Ratchet & Clank Future Tools of Destruction (LONG title lol) as well as Quest for Booty, and i would definitely purchase ANY new Ratchet & Clank game. So that was my vote.
However, Resistance 2 IS really good, but it barely just came out so it wouldn't bee too bad to wait a bit on making another. Every 2 years seems fine. The other option of a new IP actually does interest me. In an ideal world, we'd get a new R&C game early-mid '09 with the new IP late '09 to early '10 and Resistance 3 late '10? That would make sense to me anyway. I'd really like to see what the good folks over at Insomniac are cooking up next. :-)abdelmessih101
:o 3 games including a new IP in 2 years - you must be crazy to think that's even possible!!
I think this is what should happen:
Holiday 2009: Ratchet and Clank Series Finale
Holiday 2010: Resistance 3 - possibly the last game, but I hope not
Holiday 2011: New IP
Insomniac seem to be able to multitask on making games and Ratchet and Clank shouldn't be difficult to make now that they already have an engine for it. While developing what I hope is the series finale for Ratchet and Clank, and then Resistance 3 (which I hope is NOT the series finale), they will have plenty of time to brainstorm, plan, and prepare a new IP so that they're ready to develop it once they're done with Resistance 3.
Also, their games have recently been released during the Holiday Season (November/December), and I expect that trend to continure.
