I asked this in system wars and got no replies so im reposting it in the this forum as well at the PC forum. I just wanted to ask the people here at system wars what good games have i missed out on so far this gen? I have been on a gaming hiatus since august because of school and what not but now I'm on break and plan on gaming on my free time. I prefer games that immerse you into the environment of the game and make you not want to put the controller down. I love games that i can connect with the characters and that actually consist of gameplay that makes you think and use your imagination. I tried playing Skyrim on PC last week on my friends steam account and got around ~15 hours in and just got bored and just started killing everyone. Mind you this is coming from a guy who put in like 180hours in oblivion. I see that I've been interested in more old school games and recently bough Gran Turismo 2, Chrono Cross, and FFIX and i cannot put these games down. I just want to find games made this gen that make me feel that these old games do. So any suggestions? Gameplay pics would also be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Umm since August: Batman AA Uncharted 3 Resistance 3 AC: Revelations Catherine Out of all those I say Batman, Catherine, or Uncharted are your best bet for immersive character driven plots.

I live in the American Gardens building on West 81st Street. My name is Patrick Bateman. I'm 27 years old. I believe in taking care of myself, and a balanced diet and a rigourous excercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack, I use a deep pore cleansing lotion. In the shower, I use a water activated gel cleanser. Then a honey almond body scrub. And on the face, an exfoliating gel scrub. I then apply an herb mint facial mask, which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an aftershave lotion with little, or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm, followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

There is an idea of a Patrick Bateman, some kind of abstraction, but there is no real me. Only an entity, something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours, and maybe you can sense our lifestyles are probably comparable, I simply am not there.

So you play games Patrick?

If you have not indulged since August, these are my suggestions. If you only want RPG's right now I can't help you too much and they have already been listed by other posters.

Dead Island, Resistance 3, Rage, Batman: Arkham City, Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3, Modern Warfare 3, and Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 would be my suggestions for a romping good time.

Assassins Creed 2 Infamous Burnout Paradise (no charecters but you won't want to put the controller down). Uncharted 2 (linear but an amazing game in an amazing environment). Batman Arkham Assylum

I know what you mean. I'm not mad at all that my ps3 broke because my ps2 has me addicted to it again. Currently playing Dawn of Souls, Dirge of Cerberus, Wild Arms 3, FF7, and going to get Persona 4 asap.

Skyrim for me does get boring after a while too. Try out Mass Effect 2 (excellent game), Demon's souls (kinda overrated IMO but worth a shot), Dragon Age: Origins (one of my favorites and probably your best bet for a immersive game on the ps3 IMO)

I'd say Dark Souls.

I'm kind of surprised though that you found Skyrim to be boring when you loved Oblivion. For me it was the other way around, even though I put in 200+ hours into Oblivion Skyrim to me is the superior game, and drew me in much deeper than Oblivion ever could.

-Dead Nation

Those are games that are good in my opinion, and have lots of people playing online.

Trust me... that did not go unnoticed. I read the whole thing. What a great movie. Christian Bale did an amazing job in that film.

Yea, haha. I got really excited when I saw his username. I totally geeked out. American Psycho is just one of those films that does not get stale. For me at least.
