So......$95 for FF XIII in Japan

Well, many of us thought that $60 was too much for any video game but $95 for any game is beyond rediculous. And that isn't even the collectors edition, oh God I hate to see the price tag on that is there is one.

Good move though to bundle that game with a PS3

i dont know a ff fan in the world not willing to pay 95 for a fianl fantasy title not to mention that SE usually has the best collectors edition content ever

if its 100 or 300 id buy it in a second bc SE has never let me down (we'll not discuss 10-2) so i have complete faith in them that regardless of the price itll deliver

Yeah, it's pretty expensive. But I'll still get the jp version, because I feel that I won't like the dub at all...

They might include the JP voices in the U.S. release, but whatever floats your boat.

Anyways they won't try to sell it for that much here. They might be able to pull that crap in Japan but I doubt any other place in the world will pay that much for the normal version of the game.

Of course they might, but alas-- I'm quite distrusting of square. Also, isn't it odd that a game of such level isn't going to have multiple languages from the start? They're going backwards this time by the looks of it.

Maybe that won't be the American price though, but the only good thing is that the bundle will help sales of the PS3 so if you want FF and don't have a PS3 might as well get this.

I would assume it will still only be $60 when it hits the US. $95 is ridiculous but if it had English subs and text I'd import it in a heartbeat. Sadly I doubt this will happen so I'll just have to wait it out. If the bundle has a special edition console though, I may import it and just sell the game online.

The price is still higher than most games in Japan. So it would be more like $70-$75 for us to get an idea of what Japan is really going through. I would easily pay that because I really have been anicipating this game for 5 years. So maybe I just need to mark a day on my calendar that says "Make Sure You Go to Work Today!" So out of those 1826 days pick one of them and go to work.

Well, now I'm definitely not buying it. New release games (especially popular ones) are mad expensive over here, but I've never seen a game priced at 95 dollars before. Usually it's like 70 for a PS3/360 game or like 50 for a PSP/DS game. That is just insane.

It's the exchange rates, geez. These threads are misleading, it's not the same. You could easily spend over $20 USD on a McDonalds meal in the UK but that's because of the exchange rates. It doesn't mean that McDonalds is expensive in the UK. Twig978

The exchange rate over here is pretty close to 1:1. It's not exact, but it's so close that I just use 1:1 all the time to determine how much something costs in US dollars. Even if I use the current exchange rate (approx. 94 yen to 1 dollar) the price in US dollars is like 98. That's pretty darn close to 1:1. And 9240 yen, which is the real price with tax, is a lot of money to spend on a game. It's a good 2000 yen more than what a normal new release game costs. That game is mad expensive and I'd rather not waste it on a game, no matter how much I may want it.

I don't care. i'd pay $150 to play this game. I'm an Enix fanboy, so I guess I'd be a Square-Enix fanboy now. Either way, I'm playing, no matter the price.

The day a regular version of a game hits $95...I'm out.

Square Enix needs to pull whatever is up their asses out, because there is no way on earth I will even buy this game at 40$ if they pull that stunt.

I don't mind paying $95 for a major title. Living in Australia, games like Final Fantasy/Gears/ usually release at $100...sometimes even $119.

Keep in mind that the US Dollar is weak in Japan. I'm not surprised that it costs so much. Not at all.
