Keep in mind that even PS2 games go for around 5,000円, and even 7,000円, in japan.Haibaneyoukai
Some hot selling ones are pushing 7900円.
P.S.
I wouldnt mind paying $100 for FFXIII but I will only do it because SE never failed on the FF series.
Weird that the price on amazon.jp is around 7900
The site won't let me post the adress (don't have japenese caracters installed) but you can check it out
Usually pre order price from amazon are garanteed right?
Considering many game there have been tagged with a 7200+ price range, doesn't look that bad
That news just make it seems worst

[QUOTE="Twig978"]It's the exchange rates, geez. These threads are misleading, it's not the same. You could easily spend over $20 USD on a McDonalds meal in the UK but that's because of the exchange rates. It doesn't mean that McDonalds is expensive in the UK. yokofox33
The exchange rate over here is pretty close to 1:1. It's not exact, but it's so close that I just use 1:1 all the time to determine how much something costs in US dollars. Even if I use the current exchange rate (approx. 94 yen to 1 dollar) the price in US dollars is like 98. That's pretty darn close to 1:1. And 9240 yen, which is the real price with tax, is a lot of money to spend on a game. It's a good 2000 yen more than what a normal new release game costs. That game is mad expensive and I'd rather not waste it on a game, no matter how much I may want it.
The yen rate is down to 94 now?? Wow. I remember when it was around 140-150 the 7 years I was there. As far as Japanese McDonald's, I miss it! It was gourmet compared to what I have to eat now. =([QUOTE="yokofox33"][QUOTE="Twig978"]It's the exchange rates, geez. These threads are misleading, it's not the same. Today was like 93.4 yen to a dollar. It's been consistently between 93-100 yen to a dollar for the year I've been here.
And yeah, Japanese McDonald's is superior to US McDonald's. It's just so awesome and delicious here for some reason. It's gotta be the grease factor. Their grease is amazing.
Don't care, games used to cost more, if they want to go back to the old prices, especially with development costs now I can't really complain. And I think it was one of the older FF games, maybe 2 or 3 that costs around $100 or more when it was relased.
I haven't really seen anything to make me interested in the game anyway, with the exception of it being a FF game.
Since you're from Europe too where do you buy games? :P Just asking since in game stores in Germany the price tag for games IS 100$. And they got higher prices in Japan too so I guess 95$ is normal there.95? For a regular version? AHAHAHAH!! I wasn't going to buy FFXIII...now I am 150% sure I won't.

Well, many of us thought that $60 was too much for any video game but $95 for any game is beyond rediculous. And that isn't even the collectors edition, oh God I hate to see the price tag on that is there is one.
Good move though to bundle that game with a PS3

I guess you don't remember paying 89.99 for games on the ol' sega or Nintendo 64?
I use to pay freakin 59.99 for BLACK AND WHITE GAME BOY GAMES BACK IN THE DAY.
