Socom worth the cash?

with 32 player matches and all, I thought this game might be worth the money. Is it?

if you can get past the absolutely embarrassing graphics, it is an awesome game. I've heard that it's a cross between the gen and past, but no, its just past gen graphics. With worst character models. But it is still so much fun! I love itmetalpower08

The graphics are not bad. They may not be amazing but they are actually pretty stunning

Yeah I think the environments are really great actually. Its the character models that look like they were yanked outta last gen. And I must say I havn't experienced any of the problems people have been saying. Outside of the corrupted data which is simple to fix I've had nothing wrong. I don't see how people are on here saying they have yet to play since wednesday. In under a minute from the time I load up that disc I'm picking a room to join. Sure the servers are always full but the bottom of the list is easy to get into, and thats a good thing since it means there are lots of people playing.

I think that most people dont enjoy SOCOM because you dont get like 50 kills a round (besides the server issues which hopefully will be fixed soon). SOCOM is a VERY tactical game that needs to be played differentely than most shooters. IMO its worth it for any fan of tactical shooters. And then add the quality of the new official headset you get with the bundle and its even a better deal.

After being a disappointed in LBP and considering selling it SOCOM has renewed my faith in the PS3. Its not just a shiny thing next to my tv once more.

wait for prefessional reviews like from GS or IGN. people on these forums tend to overrate any exclusive, no offence to any of you but ya do.

also I have a question about this game. I thought before release slant six was saying we could base our characters off of six different special forces units. But when I designed my character the only options available were mercenarie or commando. Anybody know what is going on with that?metalpower08

They meant the uniforms, when changing your uniform use the options all the way on the left and you'll see camo patterns for a bunch of different nations special forces.
