Something I'm a bit bioshocked about.

Maybe I've been living under a rock, but isn't Bioshock developed and published by 2k? I'm shocked that PS3 fans petitioned about DMC4's exlusivity.. but no petition for a realease of Bioshock? Or am I wrong??

Does Microsoft have exclusivity rights for PC and 360 with Bioshock?? If not then I'd love to see it on PS3.

MS has no rights to it at all. It is the decision of 2K of not making a Ps3 version. Though we can probably speculate that someone got payed to keep it exclusive to PC and 360 :P

or maybe the dev team had to many problems withmaking theUnreal Engine towork on the PS3, so they skipped it

Well, Microsoft gave it the marketing and publicity that Sony did'nt, so I guess there's a sense of loyalty there. Just like with Gear of War.jdogthebomb09

And when is Bioshock suppose to come to the PS3, because I haven't heard anything from 2k games or sony about it, 2k games has said a few times it's exclusive to the PC and 360.

And yes theres already several pathetic petitions.

Bioshock is either full exclusive to MS platforms which will mean bioshock will not come to ps3, or bioshock is timed exclusive and petition or not will probably already be in development for ps3.

But all we know so far is that bioshock has been annouced as a microsoft exclusive, we dont know to what extent the exclusive deal is but its some sort of exclusive.

2K can still release it on PS3 if they want and they probably will considering its a huge success on 360 already. MS paid them to get exclusivity but exclusives dont stay forever unless the developer 100% feels the 360 is the ONLY way to go or its published by MS which its not.

and also the tag ONLY ON 360 and Windows thing on the box doesnt mean anything because oblivion, enchanted arms and blazing angels had them on their box covers too.

First I will say that I think it will be a timed exclusive - that's just my opinion. I'd say look for it sometime in Q1 or Q2 to be on the PS3.

As far as the PC thing goes - it does make sense because the 360's OS while proprietary is based on windows technology and concepts. Code will translate easier from a PC to the 360 than it will to the PS3. Being able to access DirectX extensions and the like on the 360 makes it's OS not require too much tweaking to get a PC port.

The PS3 has a completely proprietary OS which is not windows based - that is why some developers say it's more difficult to develop for. It's really not more difficult it's just different - and the fact that most developers are familiar with programming for Windows OS makes them more comfortable porting to the 360. The hotshots and better developers recognize that with the short amount of time it takes them to learn to program in a new way - for the PS3 - well they can see the profitability in that and will be the ones to truly exploit the power of the PS3 down the road. Change (in this case learning a completely proprietay OS) takes time and will have some nay-sayers in the beginning but over time once the power of the PS3 is realized more developers will write games for the PS3 first IMO and then simplify the code for the 360.

Petitions are a direct waste of time.If someone can afford a PS3but cannot afford a 360that cost less than half then something is wrong.

But in reality - if you're looking for a 360 then YOU DON'T WANT THE CORE system - or you won't be happy coming from also having a PS3. A console with no hard drive is severly crippled and MS is starting to release games that require the hard drive. So really - YOU ARE RIGHT - because if you don't count the Core system then you're definitely going to spend over half the price of the PS3 even at the $600 price point.

Well I've only had a PS3 for 1 day andI have 40GB left.

As a PC gamer I'd like to not have 1/3 of space taken up after one day of installing a few demos (even on a console), 2GB's of music and about 1GB of video.

Sweet. And yeah I'm going to slap a 120GB laptop drive in my PS3,most are pretty affordable.

For the hardcores I would agree that MS made a stupid choice. But most mainstream people don't even know that you can use pretty much any 2.5" hardrive on the PS3.

With the advent of more and more games being electronically distributed (like WarHawk and the newer larger XBL games) hard drives can fill up fairly quickly. I have'nt used my 120gb's yet but on my previous premium I had 45gb's on it with no audio or video files on it.

I would agree though that this may not be the case for casual gamers - but again the majority of the people who dropped the cash for a PS3 or 360 are not casual gamers. They're all playing with their Wii's. :)

Music and video aren't the issue, I only have about 2GB's of music and 4 HD vids. Whats taking up the most space is downloadable games and demos. Though I will be removing a few demos as I buy the full games.

I'm sure I won't be filling up the 60GB anytime soon but I wouldn't mind a larger drive with how cheap 2.5" hardrives can be.

ummmm ...... either bioshock comes to ps3 or it doesnt... if u guys want it so bad just get 250 dollars and get a 360core.... its just one game that doesnt even have co-op... does it have online???? if not then its not really worth it i guess... but Warhawk got a 9.6 on a gaming site :)... but back to topic this is starting to get annoying... there are so many posts about bioshocks every day......urio1
