Son, I am dis.... wait. Anyways, i imagine future DLC will expand the level cap, as Fallout 3's did. It's a ploy for more money, in reality.I never understood that saying...

Just an internet meme based on a picture of a rather square headed man. Had to edit out the link to an explanation due to some graphic pics I hadn't realized were there, don't want to send little ones there and get modded for it. Just google it if you want to see the original pic. I was shocked how many results I got, this is bigger than Rick Roll.

I couldn't agree more. It really isn't necessary. Even reaching the 30 cap, the meter shows (___|___|____31). The 20 cap limit showed 21 all the same. More gauging to come?

Yeah I have seen the picture before, I just thought it had some kind of significant origin other than that picture [QUOTE="thunderf00t"][QUOTE="Ultrabeatdown55"] Would anybody care to explain?Ultrabeatdown55

To be honest, why have level caps for any game at all? Especially for an open world RPG type of game.
Denji
most likely has to do with DLC and forcing gamers to buy dlcs to uncap it.
Level caps are actually good. The force you to make your level with a strategy in mind and not get every ability there is. It also more realistic.

Same here, whats the point with level caps? Its like the damn devs dont know that if i spent some time in their open world...sooner or later i will reach level 20. So whats the point to cap it?To be honest, why have level caps for any game at all? Especially for an open world RPG type of game.

In all honesty, it doesn't effect your play through of Dragon Age Origins, because the enemies do not respawn. Since you can't grind and level up, it doesn't really matter what your level cap is. You don't reach it until the very end of the game anyways. In Fallout 3 though, it's really bad.20 is the max lvl u can go up to, for a game like this??
what kind of s*** is that?!
LP4EVA2005
This is a stupid reason to dislike about a RPG. The level cap means nothing at all.
I logged around 50 hours on the PC for my first play through and by end game I am level 17 and I had no problem at all with the final battle. it's all about the skills, tactics and gears.
It limits how many points you can put into your tree making your skill build more strategic. Plus you don't have re spawns in the game anyways so its not like you can keep leveling and go back and farm monsters or anything.
That sucks. I will not be buying that until somekind of DLC comes out to raise it. I love grinding in Demon's souls. JustWiicredibleGrinding does not exist in Dragon Age, like a previously mentioned. Once you kill enemies, they are gone for good.

But the story and emotional involvement is just soo good...
Wow, I didn't know about the non-respawning enemies. Ah well, makes DA a bit more unique.A level 20 cap does seem a bit low, but according to what I've seen, you won't even need to go there to be strong enough to complete the game. And in the end, that's what matters. Who cares 'bout high levels when there's nothing to do with 'em?
how many of you have no clue how to read?
A poster on the first page already told you all that the level cap is ACTUALLY level 25 and to get to that level you have to essentially do ALL the sidequests to go along with the main quest.
For all you grinding complainers...I think some of you "grind" so you can fight bosses far above the level at which most people fight them making the bosses easier.
Farming would be a completely different story.

Enemies never respawn? I guess it's not so bad then. In fact, this'll probably be the first RPG I play where that never happens. Silent-Halonly in certain area's enemies re spawn. this game is pretty much straight forward. i dont see a need for grinding, the game requires you to strategize here and there... which make the gameplay pretty awesome. alot of flexibility, and options to choose from. i never saw having a level cap as a big deal, you have different paths as of how you want your character to be.
Why are you being so defensive? :? For one thing, the level cap being 20, or 25, makes absolutely not difference in the scheme of things, for this discussion. And for another, grinding in an RPG is alot of fun if you enjoy the gameplay. I love firing up Demon's Souls just to traverse levels and fight the challenging opponents. Could do it endlessly really. Something that is entirely absent from Dragon Age. If I could have continued playing, going back through levels, collecting more gear and earning more abilities, Dragon Age would be alot easier to recommend.how many of you have no clue how to read?

I don't know many BioWare games that you really can or need to grind on. Their games are more about story and that feeling of accomplishments. In a way the limited level cap will give you replay ability. Say you put talents into your character that was more Champion like and you want to make a two handed damager and chose different dialog options next time you go through and play it with out investing a big amount of time in it. The game still seems big, I played pretty much about 25 hours and it says I only explored 58% of the world.
