Sony advertising gone mad?

    Alright guys i saw this advert at the cinema today when i went. It was a really stupid advert that didnt make any sense( to me anyway). It was another strange advert from sony promoting the ps3. You are saying you have some strange ones in the US take a look at this!

Sony needs to start making more informative adds.  I'm sure many people are turned off by the $600 pricetag simply because they don't know why it costs $600 dollars.  If you can choose between a $400 console and a $600 one, that for all intents and purposes look the same, you'll choose the $400 one.   Sony needs to start explaining why the ps3 is worth the extra $200.  Do you think the average joe knows what the Cell is or cares about Blu-Ray?  No.  But they need to know in order to understand why the ps3 is worth the price.  Sony needs to stop with this baby doll and hand grenade crap and starting advertising what they're actually selling.

The only people that'll go to playb3yond.com, are people like you and me, and people like that have most likely already been there and seen them. I'm talking about the average person, who doesn't know that much about gaming.

i try to understand this ad but its pretty tough- i guess each person in it represent a genre of game? Eg, mafia guy throws grenade at football guy... but even thats pushing analytical skills to the extreme!!!

and that wolfman ad for the ps2 was like....woah! NO sense whatsoever... man i love crazy sony ads!

I think most of them are cool, that one is pretty funny but doesn't have to do with the PS3. And I didn't like that posessed baby one a while back. But their latest motorstorm one is awesome.wallpaper42

the only thing I got from it was that possibly each character in the commercial was a different aspect of a game character perhaps?

crazy weird characters all getting together in one place, the PS3?

beyond that I can't really venture a guess.

not really you dont get it.  OF course its gonna get people like us that go to gaming forums talking.  We are already well informed.  Most people wont be talking about these ads.  It doesnt say anything about the PS3 really...its just nonsense.  If it did say more, maybe they would be selling more consoles.  The fact of the matter is that the PS3 is not selling as they hoped...and the REAL reason behind marketing campaigns is to sell.  So, their marketing campaign has not worked.  It has not met the ultimate goal of sales.  The average person who sees that commercial will not be talking about it in a positive way.  They will all be like "What was that?  it makes no sense...weak.".  And thats not good.
