Sony & Metal Gear franchise! (It's about time)

We didn't lose games, we lost exclusives when Microsoft is keeping theirs and not sharing them with us. You saying that Bioshock has the same value and respect as Final Fantasy? When we talk PLAYSTATION, people mention Metal Gear and Final Fantasy. When they mention the Xbox, people talk about Halo and now Gears. We need to be treated equally. Sony gave us nothing so far. Really disappointed in them.

well its contracts and deals Halo well not anymore and gears are first party games microsoft payed for them to be exclusive sony did not buy final fantasy or MGS though MGS4 will be exclusive no matter what. but bungie could make halo 4 on ps3 because its not breaking rules. bungie contract ended with microsoft a while ago i don't know if they renewed thjoughshadowkiller11

MS own Halo and Gears their 1st party titles now, never going to PS3, Metal Gear Solid 4 is nothing to do with Sony they might pay for exclusive rights but that ever lasts look at Bioshock. If Konami want MGS 4 on 360 it will happen, I'd love to see Jack Tretton face when it gets announce, so much for MGS 4 only possible on PS3

The franchise is owned by Konami corporation not Koijma Production and Metal Gear introduced steath in the 80's so I don't think you can change it the way you want like the MGS series is a PLAYSTATION exclusive, while according to the records only MGS3: SNAKE EATER/SUBSISTENCE is exclusive.

Konami stated that they plan on going muti from now on according to the Representative who said they have no plans to port MGS4 to the 360 so by that the next MGS game will be muti.

And once again I will say it MGS3 is the only MGS game that is exclusive to the PLAYSTATION the others aren't.

I'm enjoying other games man but I bought it because MGS4 was on the PS3 side. If MGS4 was a 360 exclusive I would've bought the 360 and enjoyed the rest of the games aswell. I'm sorry but EVERYTHING is going to the 360, why keep my PS3? I didn't buy it to watch blu-ray movies I bought it to play games but since most of them are found on the 360 and 360 exclusives are UNTOUCHABLE why not get the 360 instead? But I still have high hopes in Sony and I am waiting for them to make their move and stretch their muscles a bit.

Everything is shared with the 360 it is not like the games are getting cancelled on the PS3 and going exclusive although I remember Alan Wake being on the PS3 and now it is MS exlusive, but I also remember Heavy Rain when it was announced it was PS3,360 and now is PS3 exclusive.

The only game that got cancelled on the PS3 was Capcom big Japanese seller Monster Hunter which went Wii exclusive but that is only because the developers are looking for a lower cost of development.

The franchise is owned by Konami corporation not Koijma Production and Metal Gear introduced steath in the 80's so I don't think you can change it the way you want like the MGS series is a PLAYSTATION exclusive, while according to the records only MGS3: SNAKE EATER/SUBSISTENCE is exclusive.

Konami stated that they plan on going muti from now on according to the Representative who said they have no plans to port MGS4 to the 360 so by that the next MGS game will be muti.

And once again I will say it MGS3 is the only MGS game that is exclusive to the PLAYSTATION the others aren't.

This topic already bores me, so I'll ring up a completely different rant:

Those who favor multiplatform gaming over exclusives are those who believe in sacraficing quality and no competition. And those people can be just as annoying as casual gamers hating on the hardcore gamers.

In a few years there will be no such things as third party exclusives except on the PS3 and 360(I say in about 2 or 3 years)

Here are the facts games cost LOTZ to make on the 360 and PS3 now serisouly i mean GTAIV cost over 100 million to make and that destroys the previous record of shenmue. So to make more money developers need to make all there games multiplat. Thats what square enix did and thats what namco bandai did and it makes perfect sense im not a big sony fanboy and says screw them or stuff like that

Soon no more 3rd party exclusives will exist on the PS3 and 360(the wii is a very cheap systems so of course there still gonna have some) It will only be 2nd party and 1st party exclusives remaining

Which i think is awesome it will all depend on which 1st and 2nd party exclusives you like better.

Don't tell me they're first parties because I told you that IMO Metal Gear and Final Fantasy are PLAYSTATION and Halo and Gears are Xbox! I know Metal Gear introduced stealth in the 80s but I meant MGS brought it to the Playstation. If the next MGS will be on the 360 too I'd rather not have another Metal Gear until Microsoft learns to share their exclusives! If MGS5 goes to the 360 then there is no point for me to keep my PS3 because I bought it mainly for MGS4 and the future of Metal Gear. I have my own reasons.

If you want the MGS series to stay exclusive then Sony needs to do just like MS and that is publish the game with the 3rd party developer that is how MS kept Gear of War, Halo to their selves because they own the right to it.

As for how they took the FF series also that is not new Sony took the series from Nintendo, but this one is different where the game just went Muti not exclusive.

And buying a console for one game is not worth spending that money for it no matter how great the game is.

I'm enjoying other games man but I bought it because MGS4 was on the PS3 side. If MGS4 was a 360 exclusive I would've bought the 360 and enjoyed the rest of the games aswell. I'm sorry but EVERYTHING is going to the 360, why keep my PS3? I didn't buy it to watch blu-ray movies I bought it to play games but since most of them are found on the 360 and 360 exclusives are UNTOUCHABLE why not get the 360 instead? But I still have high hopes in Sony and I am waiting for them to make their move and stretch their muscles a bit.

Everything is shared with the 360 it is not like the games are getting cancelled on the PS3 and going exclusive although I remember Alan Wake being on the PS3 and now it is MS exlusive, but I also remember Heavy Rain when it was announced it was PS3,360 and now is PS3 exclusive.

The only game that got cancelled on the PS3 was Capcom big Japanese seller Monster Hunter which went Wii exclusive but that is only because the developers are looking for a lower cost of development.

But they are being delayed so they can launch both versions together! Like tekken 6 and Final fantasy ! and that is not fair ! and who knows they may make the ps3 title a port !!! and that is the biggest nightmare for ps3 owner ! and the game may be downgraded so that the ps3 and 360 version looks the same !! all I am saying is that Sony needs to stop losing its exclusives ! and started owing Microsoft's !

Umm exclusives are few and far between this gen.

Remember 360 lost -- Lost Planet, Saints Row 2, Bioshock, Eternal Sonata, etc -- and if capcom make Dead Rising 2, you can add that to the list.

The main reason it seems like SONY is losing so many exclusives is becuase of the sheer number of excluives the PS2 had since it wasn't worth developing for the Xbox or GC late into last gen. In the end exclusives are nice when trying to justify buying a console but its good games we want - and lots of them ... and 10 good games is better than 5 exclusive good games....

We've lost many many exclusives and got nothing in return. You say why not let the others enjoy great games on other consoles? I agree, but this needs to be applied for everybody not just for the other console gamers. We gained nothing from giving away our exclusives but they gained ALOT. Don't start with the 1st party and 3rd party discussion because that's BS. What did we get in exchange with a game like Final Fantasy?? nothing. The only PERFECT exclusive that remained on the PS3 and that was one of the main contributors in the success of the PLAYSTATION family ever since it was introduced to the gaming world and brought stealth to the gaming industry back in 1998 is "Metal Gear Solid". Bungie is considering developing games for the PS3 but can't bring Halo because "Halo" and "Master Chief" are trademarks that Microsoft owns. I say it's about time that Sony transforms "Metal Gear Solid" from a 3rd party game to one of their first party games and OWN the trademarks of "Metal Gear Solid" and "Solid Snake"(if needed). Either buy Kojima Productions or keep your damn exclusives. You want to give them away, give us something in return! ok?

Yes completely agreed.I bought my PS3 for MGS and bought my 360 for Halo.These two games are not just games ANYMORE.They are a PART OF CONSOLES.Like a controller or any other hardware/software of console.They should not be ported.We already lost icons like Final Fantasy and Devil may cry.

We didn't lose games, we lost exclusives when Microsoft is keeping theirs and not sharing them with us. You saying that Bioshock has the same value and respect as Final Fantasy? hmm maybe. Me and him share the same exact knowledge. I know him personally and we keep discussing the storyline together. He's like my best friend and my best Metal Gear buddy. We go to university together and we met thanks to his codec ringtone on his phone and alert beep as his message tone.

Regardless I don't think it would necessarily be a great idea for Sony to buy rights for Metal Gear, for the sole fact that Hideo Kojima said MGS4 would be his last game for the franchise, but I have been hearing rumors there is a MGS5 script being written and considering of being involved if he likes the ideas the staff is coming up with. To be quite honest, I hope Konami retires the franchise. Let Snake rest in peace, and let the characters and the vast community and locations Kojima invisioned alone.

I don't want to see another Metal Gear game to be honest. I am satisified with MGS4.

Heres the thing about what you just said, Halo and Gears were published by Microsoft Game Studios and developed by a third party. Microsoft paid for those games. Thats why they won't come to PS3. Final Fantasy and MGS respectively are Square and Konami by themselves, Sony didn't do jack for them so it does not matter if they go to another platform. Your asking Microsoft to give up games they funded while asking Sony to tell other companies they can't give another console games that Sony didn't do anything for. Your crossing the line from logical argument about exclusives too ridiculous fanboy ranting with the above qoute.
