sony back on top

do you guys have any ideas on what sony can do to get themselves back on top with the video game industry

I think that there are three major things they can do

1. the price has to drop at least 100 to 200 dollars

2. blue ray has to become video storage standard (still competing with hd-dvd)

3. they have to get a few really good exclusive titles out

price drop of 100 wont be that much of a difference but 200 would be nice

blue ray has basically won.........how often these days do u c dvds comin out advertised as comin out for dvd or hd????u dont and i think blockbuster or some company said they only want blue ray

killzone2 mgs4 will make ppl want ps3 more as well as other titles

They only want blue ray well if that is all they want to carry they better just shut the whole thing down for they will go broke within 6 months. DVD's will be the biggest renter and seller for the nexed 6 years then mabie somthing will take there place

its not just that it has a lot of games coming out its that it need ps3 exclusive games to come out because for those who have multiple sytems arnt gonna bother buying the ps3 if they already have something else to play it on. metal gear solid 4 and grandturismo wont do it. sony needs like "10" ps3 exclusives. skeeter1255

Sony is not fighting against microsoft and nintendo. It is fighting against all the media!!!

Dude i knew that a few exclusives were coming out but that is crazy i never even thought

the good thing is that sony doesnt have do anything spectacular to win, everything they need to do to catch up (or pass) is compleatly possible. all they really need to pass MS is for MS to mess up ::Hack::(Halo3).

im JK about halo i love that game

1) Modest Price drop expected this holiday season, prolly around $100 bucks.

2) Blu-ray out selling Hd-dvd an average of 5 to 1, particularly due to number of ps3 sales, so pretty much it's looking good for blu-ray.

3) Exclusives (Clears Throat): Lair, Warhawk, heavenly Sword, Killzone 2, Ratchet and clank tools, Jak and Daxter the Lost Frontier, MGS 4, Final fantasy 13 and many more such as little big planet and white knight story. Most of those coming out in 2007, so with all those, at least a few titles have to be good.

yah they also have to improve thier multiplayer. the reason that the 360 is sorta up there is because of there multiplayer. i mean they gave out free michs witht the purchase of a 360 and now after spending 600 sony also sais get your own mich.

Now people wont buy michs and play mutiplayer without them to me making it boring. if u dont have a mich in some 360 games u usually get kicked off.

I mean other people may not feel this way but to me its a big deal!

and 360 owners need to go out and buy battery packs unless they want to be constantly changing batteries for an entire generation.

I don't see Sony dropping the price of the console for a long time. As of now the sales are begining to picup gradually and most of the high end games are being developed to use more of the power of the PS3. jimm895

Naw i gotta disagree, even though it would put sony in a loss, its pretty obivous they are gonna drop the price this year. Theres a good chance Xbox 360 will drop price right when Halo 3 hits, portential ps3 buyers are holding out until a price drop, and it will be a lot easier for ps2 owners to upgrade. Plus with the lineup of games coming holiday season sales will go up, but with a price drop sales will soar.

Back on topic i say price drop, rumble sixaxis, good bundles, and of course games, and way better marketing team big time, their ads are beyond confusing to average consumers. If sony does all this there is a good chance they will win the console war. just my 2 cents.

PS3's exclusives are going to spread out over the next couple of years and they include some BIG gaming series -

* Final Fantasy 13

* Final Fantasy versus 13

There's no denying the pull of TWO exclusive Final Fantasy titles, particular over in Japan! You just can't ignore the pulling power of the series.

* Metal Gear Solid 4

Again, another huge title to have as an exclusive for the PS3, and it's coming out within the next 12 months.

* God of War 3

There's no denying how brilliant God of War 3 will inevitably be, particularly graphically, and how much of a big seller it will be to have as an exclusive.

I personally think one element that has also been overlooked is how in 2-3 years the biggest andmost impressive games, not just graphically, simply are not going to fit on a DVD, so at a time when the PS3 will inevitable have dropped in price somewhat, it is going to give Sony's engine a big advantage. I personally think in a few years Microsoft will really regret not moving on from DVD format for their games.

If Sony wants to remain a strong player in the world of games consoles it should consider reducing the price of the Playstation 3! It's not only you and me suggesting, it also has been suggested by Sega Sammy. Please find the below news:

And honestly, some of those games have a big chance going 360 so it´s fanboyish to say that only the PS3 will get games in the future.

See thats the thing games are going to the 360 making it harder for 360 owners like me to want a ps3. I mean had a ps2 since launched and wanted a ps3 since its launched but i couldnt afford it so i settled for a 360 (I need games in my life) but yes i still want a ps3 because after N64 the ps1 is what made me a true gamer. and now i want the ps3 but all i want from it is Kh3 FF13 and jak and daxter. wich is y i said before the ps3 needs like 10 games that will only come to the ps3.

A chunk of those games WILL NOT stay exclusive, but even if 40 of them do or 30 for that matter...that coupled with some new anouncements at E3 and throughout the year, if you can't find 10 exclusives you'd enjoy playing then you should probably find another hobby.

PPl, Killzone 2 is the Psp game, the Ps3 version is Killzone 3.T-Zone

even though all the title of the psp version is killzone liberation....don't see a 2 in there...

well I dont find 10 ps3 exclusivesgames thatI like that doesnt mean i need another hobby it means that there are other systems ... its just that i reallly want 1 for some specific games like kh3 and jak and daxter there may be like 6 excusive games that i may like and for that 600 is not worth it even if there is blue ray. because if im fine watching standard movies then bluray wont change that. and yes ive seen reel blue ray players in action. to me a movie is a movie no big deal,

i dont see how sony can lower the price to much because they are already losing mony on these systems as it is. that aside, look at what you get for the money you pay if you want the xbox 360 elite wireless network adapter and hd dvd player after tax over 800 dollars. you get the wireless network built in hdmi already and blu ray built for 600. you can upgrade the hard drive to damn near any size you want. why is everybody **** about the price. there will be games that come out for the ps3 soon and it will eventually pass wii and the 360. sean0128

I may speak for others but for myself here also, and i say soon is to long we want it now. almost a year has passed and there are only a reasonable amount of games out there. and YES i know some disagree but i have friendswho i know that agree with me....and for that thng u said about the cash well some people dont need and wirelss network adaptor or blue ray is niether important to the so that wont count for all of them. the only problem the 360 onwers have when paying is fo xbox live. 50 bucks a year so it better pay off and from now it has.
