Sony has dropped the ball on the 40gig

Wow SOny I mean wow (PS Im not trolling look at my sig and Iintend to keep that promise)

No BC, really I want to cotinue playing my kingdom hearts ,FFXII, and a few more games afor the past. Now you forced e to buy a used 60 gig for 450$

Should I geta used 60gig or maybe 20gig or jjust get the 40gig

The 40 gig is so gimped up. Makes alot of early adopter happy I just.

Sony has made the 40gb model such a steal, and it's beyond me how anyone can complain about it. For what you get with that model you are getting an incredible value.

I don't feel the need to argue my point because I think it's price and what you get for that price speaks for itself.

The 40GB PS3 is a steal for its value. This is what Sony should have came out with in the first place which virtually would mean no existance of the 20GB PS3.

That's all people do these days is piss and moan about things. It's not like the PS3 costs Sony nothing to produce. They don't pull it out of their ass, it actually costs money to make. People want a cheaper PS3, but they don't want to sacrifice anything.

You can't have it both ways. Sony has to cut some costs here and there, not to mention they aren't in the business of losing money. People didn't want to pay the original asking price for the full features, so Sony cuts a feature and reduces the price, yet people still complain.

Fact is, is that for the price you are getting an incredible value and the fact that people continue to whine about it makes me cry for humanity. Would it be nice if everything was cheaper? Well, duh, but I personally have no problem paying for quality and the 40gb PS3 is a phenomenal value.

40gb is only for uk, unless u live uk then that apply to u, 60gb is best deal sony had to offered for u.s. is gone soon. most site no longer sale. is 100 less than 80gb version, has backward, not a big deal anymore since 80gb has patch that allowed play ps2/1 game. just cost a bit 100mugupo

True especially since people say they want the Ps3 to just play games. The 40 Gig is a good deal for people who just want to play games because you don't need the extra 2 USB ports or memory cards. It still has blu-ray, wifi and HDMI which are probably the most valuable things in the PS3. I'veo nly used those memory card slots once. And I only use 2-3 USb ports. BC is nice to have but I didn't buy a PS3 to play Ps2 games especially since I have to buy an adaptor to transfer my saved files and the fact that I only ever played my PS2 games when I had nothing for my PS3. Now that I have PS3 games i don't even touch my PS2 games.

I was under the impression that the main point of the ps3 is to play ps3 games. I swear people seem to care more about their ps3s playing ps2 games instead of ps3 games....

People complained that it was too expensive and that Sony should take stuff out to make it cheaper. They did that and now people complain its not worth it cause it lacks features.

u mean its NOT coming to the U.S? Dammint Im gonna have to get a 60 gig, and to think I got excited for nothing, to me the B/C issue isnt really an issue at all, when I buy a ps3 I want a ps3.

Well I still care about PS2 games, and I will buy a 60 gig since Sony doesn't see fit to give us software emulation. I'm torqued because they are being hypocrites. Sony was all "BC matter to our costumers" when MS said that not all games would be backwards compatible, and PS3 fans held that against the 360; I still do. But now Sony is telling us that PS2 backwards compatibility doesn't matter. I'm annoyed because they are acting like MS which is rarely a good thing.

Umm... The 40 GIGs handle SOFTWARE Emulation, unlike the 60 GB. In the 60 GB, there is a hardware that deals with the BC. The only main difference is that the 40 GIG will still handle BC, just not like the 60 GB. Any game that does not work will be fixed by Sony through Firmware Updates.Author_1990

This is not entierly true, the european 60GB does only have software emu, where the american/jp 60GB version uses hardware. So it's not really anything weird that the 40GB version doesn't have software/hardware at all.
