Seriously, I like the controller feel a lot (still prefer my 360 though as i'm a little biased) i like the D-pad waaay more than the 360 one which is a piece of junk and feels tacked on, but honestly the PS3 is a bit of a pain when it comes to playing R:FoM for me. I mean it's nothing that kills FPS's overall, but how does sony not just change the controller around if they ever wish ti truly compete in the FPS market with MS. Killzone 2 Looks great and i will still buy it, (killzone 1 i thought was a decent game) but playing RFoM makes me wish the analog sticks weren't on top of one another, my thumbs constantly collide and obstruct certain quick turns.

Again, it's nothing huge but the Analog stick placement IMO is just stupid.

The whole reason I like the PS3 controller is because the analog sticks are side by side. It just feels right to me.

i think the analog sticks being next to eachother is fine for fps. you just haven't given it a chance. i didn't even realize that rumble was gone but its cool that they are adding it.

I played through resistance a few weeks ago, the controller was ok I guess. I prefer the x360 controller (other than the bad D-pad). I hate the fact you can't just put in your own batteries in the ps3 controller... my AA batteries last longer in my xbox 360 controller, even with the rumble on.

Hmm, I prefer the 360 controller for FPS slightly over the PS3. I transitioned to the six axis with resistance without any issue. I didn't feel as if my game play was any different then if I was using a 360 controller.

Actually the Sixaxis is better than the dualshock for FPS games. The analog sticks are smaller and raised higher for better control, it's still not as good as the 360's, but it works well. Plus the R2 & L2 are triggers now, some say that their fingers rub off and they don't like them, but personally I think they're way better and with games that allow different control schemes or use R2 as shoot it's way better than R1, but that's just my opinion.

the ps3 wasn't designed to play fps games. it was designed to play all games.. with pressure sensitive buttons for ALL the buttonse xcluding directional pad and R3 and L3, there is a lot you can do with the games. Seriously, how can i mash with DMC on a frickin 360 controller. thats worse than trying to play tekken on the wii

Adding the extra 2-bits to the range really made it perfect for FPS for me. I had a hard time playing any FPS on PS2 cause the range was limited compared to the Xbox. So yeah. If I play a console FPS the sticks have to have some range.

The only problem I had with fps's were with ones like the darkness. Where R2 and L2 are used. It is so much easier on L1 and R1.

I've actually been playing Rainbow 6 Vegas a lot recently, and have had no problem with aiming in that... but at the same time, having used a ps2 controller for the past several years as well, I guess I may be rather accustomed to the feel of it overall, with the slight changes of l2 and r2, which I have found rather nice. Feels comfortable to me, but I guess that can vary from person to person.

I have played FPS on both the PS3 and 360, but I still prefer it on 360. As others have said, the dpad on the 360 controller is crap, but I like how the tops of the analog sticks are concave. Once the padding on the sixaxis wears down a little bit it's much harder to keep a good grip on the sticks through long play sessions. This problem is nonexistent on the 360 controller in my experience.

although i feel the analog sticks on a 360 keep my shots a tad bit more accurate, when it comes to sports games n such or FPS for the Sony, i feel it's smooth havin them side by side, and good GOD, how big are your thumbs if they keep colliding lol

I'd like it if Sony would come out with a different Sixaxis layout built for FPS games.  They're quite popular nowadays, and I play so many FPS that I'd buy at least two of them.  Swap the stick and D-pad, make the triggers concave, and add rumble, and you've got a much better controller.

All pads are bad in FPSs. Wii Remote being an exception... FPS and RTS games should be played with a mouse and a keyboard. Controllers are such a joke. I mean come on people. IMO out of the three Wii is the best for FPSs, PS3 and xbox1.5 sucking equally.

My left hand actually starts to hurt from the offset placement of the 360s controller when I play my buddies. It's probably because I'm not used to it, but I can play Shooters on PS3 for hours on end comfortably.

I love the PS3 controller's bottons layout, but I do like to see they make it a little bigger size, it'd be best for FPS and anygames...... I have a bigger size PS2 controller made by MadCatz, and it feels really nice in the palms, tho the bottons felt like crap.
