I made up a # - but it doesn't matter - i removed it - don't want some random person getting calls hahaaissanityIn the future, next time you make up a number begin it with 555.... (as in 555-1234) 555 is reserved for movie use.
You all sound pretty dumb. This security breach will cost Sony about $318 per user. They will have to think about compensating users who's personal information has been compromised and definately have to compensate those who become victims of fraud. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/PlayStation-Network-Failure-siliconalley-3752120524.html?x=0&.v=1WeenskiWho are you calling dumb? I believe I responded in an intelligent manner on this post, so I don't appreciate the negative connotation.
Sony owes you nothing. If you become a victim of identity fraud because your information was stolen whilst being 'looked after' by Sony, they owe you compensation. FACT[QUOTE="ShimmerMan"]
Yeah and I hate people who work in customer service. I mean Sony are the idiots who can't even get proper security, even though they're one of the richest companies on the face of the planet. Hwo the hell does such a big co-orp lose 70+ millions peopels worth of identity and personal info? Seriously. Everyone should sue the ass of them let alone just ask for three years worth of life lock.

FACT That's true, but so far no one has fallen victim to identity theft - certainly not the TC - and it doesn't change the fact that his e-mail was completely idiotic.[QUOTE="ShimmerMan"]

Sony won't just hand you a bag of cash, they may however do a middleman deal with Life Lock to provide you the service as if Sony handed me a cheque i'd end up spending it. Plus the people who reply to these mails are idiots and Sony aren't obliged to give you the money, if this was the case then i can 100% guarantee that your bank should be giving you this ten fold as they will get breaches a lot they just keep it under wraps and i think employees have to agree to this term in their contract or it's bye bye. Why is Sony any different from any company that holds your details? Security is always a huge concern and every company in the world has just as much chance of being hacked as SOny does, it's really annoying when people starting posting that Sony are to blame when it is them who gave Sony their information to keep. If i loan my TV to my neighbor and his house gets broken into should i blame my neighbor? No... If someone wants to get in they will, whether by breaking a window or crowbarring the door open they will get in.
[QUOTE="LordsLoss"]Sony owes you nothing. If you become a victim of identity fraud because your information was stolen whilst being 'looked after' by Sony, they owe you compensation. FACT Let me explain a little more. Let's say you, Weenski, owned a company. Then one day hackers break through your "top of the line" security system and gain access to people's credit card information. Those hackers target a man named Joe. One day Joe looks into his bank account and realizes there was a wire transfer for 1,000,000 dollars into an unknown account over seas. Yes, Joe is rich. He isangry and wants his money back. Who owes him one million dollars, the hackers or Weenski? Stopping a hacker is like bringing a knife to a gun fight. You might thwart their efforts every once in a while, but the hackers, gunman, will get through. Should you pay for another persons illegal activities?[QUOTE="ShimmerMan"]

I am ever so glad i made my purchases using pre-paid PSN cards. Takes a HUGE weight off my shoulders in this current situation. I just want them to take their time just to make sure they get things fixed properly.
I have checked and Life Lock is $165.00 / year X 3 years = $495.00.issanity
You have to be kidding me. How is this a must read? You gave Sony a stupid request and they denied it. You're lucky they even replied to you.
I will give you 24 hours to respond.issanity
This is the first time I've ever actually lol'd on GS and I couldn't stop laughing for 2 minutes. You act like you have a nuke pointed at them, what were you gonna do if they didn't respond?.
