The truth is most multi-platform games are better on 360 and deep down you know this is true but you believe what you want to believe because of your bias nature, which really is pathetic, its clear by your post you have a distaste for the 360. I enjoy sony systems as much as anyone i have been playing god of war 2 all week but this silly loyalty to a console really is pathetic, i thought sony could do no wrong and ps3 would be top of my wish list of next gen systems but there is no denying sony have crapped on their loyal fanbase several times and their pure arrogance is losing them exclusives titles, for the last five years sony have paid developers for exclusive titles and been very aggresive towards keeping them titles this is what has won them the last two generations, but because of there massive success they believe everyone will buy a ps3 no matter the cost and every dev will want to make games for them, which has turned out not to be true and microsoft are being the aggresive company and taking titles from under sonys noses. I see big problems unless sony can turn things around and i believe they will and hope they will but i must admitt i have lost allot of faith in them over the last year or so and they kind of deserve the hard times they are coming across i just hope this makes them buck their ideas up. Surely its a problem when you ship 200,000 units to the uk and afetr several weeks stores are still offering launch day consoles websites have been offering consoles for weeks while 360 and wii sold out in mins everywhere, yes i do know they shipped more units than 360 an wii but they did not ship that many units they could not sell out in a few weeks compared to 360 and wii's 7 and 10 mins on amazon and 4 and 6 mins on play, just under 200 people turned up at the uk launch event and they had just under 700 units, they were giving away free 42" hdtv's to draw consumers in, and only around 40 turned up for the Au launch nobody was there with 2hrs to go till launch. This to me indicates bad times for sony and anyone who denys this or tries to justify it with an excuse is blinded by fanboyism. And im sure the usual fanboy tactics will apply after my post it will be something like this " go away troll, you are an x-bot blah blah blah" these are clear signs of a fanboy, if you do not agree with a fanboy you get called a fanboy, if you do not stick up for system x you get called a fanboy of system y, basicly fanboys last resort is to call people names because they cant accept anyone who doesnt support there console of choice, i bet most of the fanboys out there support there console more than anything else, if somebody where to call their mother names it would not offend them as much as somebody dissing their console. I just dont get the loyalty, you get nothing for itand you miss out on great games the other console has to offer it really is PATHETIC. And before people start im no fanboy, well im a fanboy of games and i wish dmc had of stayed on ps3 and i hope ps3 keeps other exclusive titles, as i buy all systems i have the 360 and the wii, and the ps3 has just launched and i will pick that up at some point when a game i just have to play gets released (im thinking when either heavenly sword,mgs4 or lair comes out whichever is first) but i would just like certain games to stay on certain systems so i can enjoy all systems equally, i dont want my ps3 to turn into my gt5,gow3 playing machine, kind of like my wii will be a zelda,mario playing machine.
If Final Fantasy XIII and MGS4 goes to 360, then I officially bought PS3 for NOTHING.
And that would get me to a point where I would feel like I got ripped off.
I'd seriously rather play Mass Effect and Gears of War than Heavenly Sword. It is because of Final Fantasy XIII and MGS4 I decided to buy PS3.Â

you people who don't care about exclusives are just simply ignorant. the ps3 costs more money than the xbox360, has so far been proven to have weaker online (because developers don't want to support their own servers, likely due to cost), the xbox360 at this time has a much larger library of games, and they are getting games that were previous ps exclusives, that if the current cross-platform games are any sort of accurate gauge, will be equal or better on the xbox. it's probably true that the ps3 is more powerful generally, it has blu-ray (which is awesome), built in wireless on the 60gb, etc. etc., but at the moment there just isn't a compelling reason for most people to spend $600 on the ps3 at the moment, when they can get a similar experience on the xbox for a smaller entry fee. for me personally, i bought the ps3 for 3 reasons. one is backwards compatability with my ps2 games (as my five year old ps2 broke a couple of months ago); the second is that it has blu-ray (i just bought an hdtv, and conveniently enough my dvd player also bit the dust within days of my ps2); and the third and most important reason i bought the ps3 is (was) their list of exclusive games, like mgs, final fantasy, dmc, and so on. if it wasn't for their exclusive titles, i would have simply bought a used ps2 and a cheap dvd player to tide me over. i care very little for sony as a company, or microsoft as a company, or nintendo as a company (generally speaking) but i don't want my $600 purchase to wallow in mediocrity because of sub-par support from game developers.squirrelgrrrl84

Sure they are already losing about 200 dollars per system but their current strategy to get that money back just wont work. They plan that the games they sell will make up for those 200 dollars. Well, you cant sell games when nobody is buying your system and the reason for that is that its too damn expensive. Once they lower the price to 400, people will see no reason not to buy a PS3 instead of a 360. Once more PS3s are sold, they will secure more exclusives like FFXIII. And once they secure more exclusives, more systems will be sold. Sony has to really see this as one of theyre very few plans for success and act out on it. Sure they will lose quite a bit of money in the beginning, but after about 2 or 3 months, PS3s will be flying off the shelves and so will the games. This is what sony has to do in order to win. Lower the price to 400 dollars.Â

I've played Halo 1 and Halo 2 when I had a Xbox last gen, I must be missing something, but whats so special about Halo? To me it's just another FPS with vechiles, it's no different then the 4,000 other FPS games out there :?graze81

#1 - Far too many threads are complaining about losing exclusives - If we can get a few threads stickied for this, It'd help and make this board much more easy to navigate.
#2 - People are working under the assumption that losing an exclusive means it won't still be on PS3, such as the poster who said that if any of his fave series went multiplatform, he'd sell his PS3, then buy a 360 and PS2. This doesn't make a whole lot of economic sense, depending upon how much you can get for, acknowledging the lack of shortages, at least in the U.S. So, at most, you recoup the full cost of the system, lose money on the games, then buy a $400 system, then the PS2 I think still runs $150, then, after he buys 1 PS2 game, he's already paying money again. Knee-jerk reactions like this are ridiculous.

Why do you guys care so much about exclusives. Big woop. I could see if it meant you lost the game altogether, but you are still getting them. Doesn't make any since that you feel just because someone doesn't own your system they shouldn't get to play a certain game. Play it on the system you have & be happy you have it. I don't give a crap if Halo 3 does come out for PS3, if it does, you will have a cool game that you can enjoy as much as the people who play it on 360. I also agree with above post, 360 is underestimated. You guys won't give it any credit because you want it to fail, that is so bogus, if it weren't for 360, the PS3 wouldn't be half the machine it is today. Competition is what keeps them on their toes. i agree. but people dont have the money to buy both consoles at the moment. i dont but i got lucky and have people who love me and will buy me things :)   exclusives are nice, the only one i care about is FFXIII because i havent played DMC or much of RE. FFXIII multiplat wouldnt suprise me with the fact that they are putting out games for basically every console and portable device. but i figured they would let the main FF series remain PS exlusive.i go by your way of thinking, who cares if it comes out for both, i'll just have to wait and see which one turned out better, or if there will be people i'd play it with online on PS3 or 360. Â
Sony does not need to get these exclusives necessarily, they just need to start securing more, exsisting or new titles for the next few years. Â

could sony do a special offer sorta thing, like lower the price to under $400 or a little over 400 for a couple months, then raise it back up? or is it once you lower it it has to stay there? i think that would help boost sales for now, and would also allow them a little more time to get things worked out so they could permanently lower the price. in the meantime more games would be bought due to more people buying during the offer, and it would make people more satisfied temporarily. Â

That could work, but who's to say that Microsoft won't drop the price of their own system? Yeah, Sony can drop their system to 400, but then Microsft could drop their's another 100 themselves. Right now, they are actually making a profit on every 360 sold, so they can do a price drop whenever they want. Sony would drop their price, and then Microsoft would follow as well. We'd be right back at square 1 and Sony would still have the most expensive console. The games will decide then.yeah honestly

LOL. True, but sometimes there are games on other systems that you just have to play. Plus, you don't have to get each system at the same time. You can get one one now, and maybe a year later get the other or something after a price drop and trading in some games.I know this is kind of off topic but I don't get these people who buy all consoles.
