Sony weighing how much to cut PlayStation 3 price!!!

Looks like they are going to do it just not sure how much are they willing to lose. If you just bought a system I would worry that your going to lose out on the price drop. Word on the web is the 360 is droping a 100 for the Core and Primum but not the Elite.

FYI it's also the same price here in Canada. (The Playstation 3 as far as I know anyways)

Whether they drop the price or not, I'll be getting one. I just don't have the money right now. If they do drop it at a later date, I'll wait till then, and buy games now.

I'd agree with this. If the object is to get one in almost all households, then they need to dramatically reduce the cost. They could then make up for it by selling games/movies.

and a reason im not buying a ps3 now is it comes with no hd cables or head set. 1 controller and no games thinking of spending close to 800 bucks just to get started is really scarey to this gamer...

If I were Sony, I would drop the price to zero. Make Playstations completely free. If every single person in the world had a Playstation 3, they would be making a fortune in software sales. I'm not a money man, but that seems like a good move to me. Short term loss for long term gain.MisterEngilsh

If that's true, I hope the sewer main under M$ headquarters bursts and releases foul waste throughout the building. Although, with all the 360 crap there they'd probably never notice.

You are right. I was reading an article http://www.sonyprotectiongroup.com/?/content/view/181/1/that talked of PSP sales when rumors of a price cut was coming out. PSP sales fell a few weeks following up to the price cut. Then Sony saw a spike in sales that lasted a few weeks, then sales dropped off again. There are probably a lot of people waiting on this price drop. Just a question of when and how much. $50 isnt going to sway people. It's has to be a $100.

Sony should drop the price otherwise its gonna lose many customers these christmas.Ppl cant w8 like 2 years to go to next-generation.Well some sure they can (as me for example cause i love PS) but not for that long.

Actually the only thing that Sony has released is maybe a price reconfiguration meaning they may raise the price like $25.00 after the E3 show because the large amount of games and features that will be released then and there may be another $25.00 price increase at a later date. Then they could have a sale of maybe $25.00 off retail price sometime next year.
