I want to see...
Kingdom Hearts Collection
Ratchet & Clank Collection
Jak & Daxter Collection
Ico Collection (though that has already been unveiled, correct?)
I think those four have a realistic chance of coming in the form of an upgraded collection. I'd also really love to see a Xenosaga Collection as well, but I think that's going to stay a pipedream.
Please.. just please give us PS2 emulation already :cry:PoisoN_Facecam0And give up an opportunity to double/triple-dip in your wallet, if not more? This is $ony here we're talking about. ;) That being said, re-releases like this are only really worth it (to me) if it's for a game that I liked and either: - Couldn't get an original copy at the time it was new (i.e. rented it a lot) - Has ruined their original copy, and thus wanting a 'fix' :P I think the big reason that $ony won't release PS2 games on the PSN is because it would require some kind of emulator to load and run the game, and thus in its current state, only PS3's that had some form of BC would be able to play PSN-downloaded PS2 games at all. The reason PS1 games work fine is because ps1 emulation has always ran off software (a.k.a. t3h c3ll).
I'd really like to see more PS2 classics receive an HD retouch a la GoW collection. ForsakenWickedI can sort of see why some people would want it, but if the original is readily available (like GoW still is for PS2) why not get it on that? Oh, wait... because $ony neutered the current ps3's. I guess for me, one of my biggest downers for these HD re-releases is the fact that it's basically just that... a polished rerelease of the exact same game. It'd be more compelling if they added some more extra's or something, like being able to switch between "remastered" and original soundtracks (which was done with the PS1 JP releases of MM 1-8, and were seen in MMAC on PS2/Xbox/GC), additional modes (like theoretically being able to play through the whole campaign in 1st person for MGS: Twin Snakes), or something to really make it a much more enticing offer than just re-packaging of the same games I can already play in their original form now.

Nope. It's been rumored, but it hasn't been confirmed. I wouldn't be surprised to see Sony release it in preparation for The Last Guardian, though. It'd be a good way to generate interest for Last Guardian.
Now I know why they removed b/c for the PS3. They are upgrading old PS2 titles to HD to be playable on PS3 to make more money....:(

Incorrect. They moved it because of how expensive PS3 parts were back in the day.
I'd love to see a Legacy of Kain (Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2 and Defiance) collection for the PS3. I know Sony doesn't hold right to that franchise, but considering that the first two games in that series are downloadable from the PSN store it could happen. I already own all the games in that series, but I'd honestly have no problem with buying a Blu-Ray with them.

Kingdom hearts collection PLEASE SONY!

I Totally Agree with you my friend!
We need Kingdomhearts,Kingdom Hearts 2,Kingdom Hearts Final Mix in one collection.
Is that up to Sony or Square though? Is that up to Sony or Square though?Warriorboy1990
Square. Sony has absolutely no control over Square Enix's properties.

Then I wonder how Sony will remaster 3rd party titles for the PS3.Well, assuming third-party games can get this treatment, development will undoubtedly be handled by the third-party studio that owns the property. Sony probably wouldn't play any part in the process.

Your fanboy is showing. If people already own the ps2 games that they're buying an HD collection for, why can't they just play them on their ps2s. I'm not happy that Sony took BC out of the newer PS3s, but it's not like I and many other people who wanted that feature didn't already own a PS2. If there's any company of the big 3 that milks their fanbase, it's Microsoft, not Sony.

That was what I was thinking, but I don't see how BC for the PS3 would cost a lot, if anything, especially if it added through a software emulation update.I can see Sony adding software emulation or releasing BC PS3s once again after the PS2 has gone out of production.

Well can't Sony do ANYTHING about it? I would really like a Prince of Persia and Kingdom Hearts Collection. :)I hope not, they should just put them for DL on the PSN store. Thats way better and faster. If they can put DreamCast games on PSN why cant they put PS2?RTUUMM
Too many GB's and you won't have a 'collection' per say, which I guess is one of the main points.

Yeah: make sure their own remastered titles are successful. If they're successful enough to show that there's a market for this, then developers could, in theory, be enticed to do the same. It all depends on how well they perform at retail.
If they put Metal Gear Solid 2 on the PS3, I would purchase in a heartbeat, its the only one i do not own.

Emulating disc based PS2 games via software is very difficult and the update would probably be a few hours long, especially when you considor how many PS2 games there are
I've been itching to get into Metal Gear Solid for quite a while now, a Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (with MGS1 included and MGS4?) would be awesome.
[QUOTE="dan_gerous87"]Yeah it seems like Kingdom Hearts is a popular game that people wish was remastered for the PS3. A lot of people want it to happen. There's still a few PS2 games I'm interested in but never got; like Beyond Good & Evil, Twisted Metal, Killzone & Kingdom Hearts, so I could wait for these to hit PSN. But if it's games I already have like GOW, MGS, Ico, FF, GTA etc then I'll save my money.
Of course it would be more convenient if we could just play PS2 discs on our PS3s, but what do I know?
Warriorboy1990
I would pay the full $60 price tag for a Kingdom Hearts collection including the Final Mix versions of both games in english!!!Kingdom hearts collection PLEASE SONY!
