I'd agree.

I hope you all here realize making your own list of best games is only going to contradict yourself.

Everyone has their own taste, I can grab any of your own list and say that's the worst list ever as well.

As for Halo 3, I assume they put it there because technologically I believe they are the first game to render all surrounding real time. Crysis does it as well, but Halo 3 came first. Other than that I'm not quite sure if it is really a technological achievement. But then when you think about it technological achievement isn't just all shiny graphics.

In that sense, I think Crysis is the major breakthrough in technological achievement, but who am I to judge. I like to play games that I think it's fun to play and that's all there is to it.

Wow! That nominee list is full of pure bull **** I own and play all three consoles and that is some BS. How is Halo technical achievement when they introduced nothing new and it wasn't even in HD. Even the Halo fans I know were greatly disapointed. Uncharteds graphics and animations were a true achievment just as Mario Galaxies level design were. I could really go on about this BS list.

I would say I don't care, but a lot of casual gamers might take this crap show as the real deal. I fear for the misinformed.

For all who say this list is biased maybe you should look and see who is on the board that made this list. It is made up of top editors from every major site/magazine.

Editors from Gamespot (including Jeff Gerstmann, Ricardo Torres), IGN (Jeremy Dunham), 1UP (Editor in Cheif Dan Hsu), Playstation Magazine (Rob Smith Editor in Chief), Game Informer (Editor in Cheif Andy McNamara), Gamespy, Kotaku (Brian Crecente), Games radar etc.

Plus if you looked at previous years the list they use is similiar to what Gamespot has and other websites.

360 games get low reviews too...Mass Effect only got an 8.5 on here. stop thinking the gaming world is out to get Sony and the ps3. there's no conspiracy. the games are just lackluster...short with with no online or multiplayer. that puts a bad taste in peoples mouths when their not obessed cows who want their system to be king. thats why games aren't selling...because some people, or most, aren't goin to buy half assed crap out of loyalty to the Sony and the ps3. they might be great single player games but in the end they're short with nothing really to do after beating em except play the same linear game all over again. 60 dollars for that...no.

that's why ps3 games aren't nominated. they're lacking. uncharted would probably have done better if you actually explore that great looking jungle and/or temples but you can't even do that. all you can do is look at it and move on. Warhawk is great but it has no single player campaign so that's not even really anything but filler. HS pretty to look at until you say "damn, its over already". ps3 games are rentals. they need to start making more complete games so more people will want it besides hardcore PS fans.

I never said consipiracy, I won't argue the value of some of the games listed on here. I never said any of the games were bad. Noone is talking reviews, I don't care what score ME got. You seriously need to go back to system wars because you've forgotten how to post on a "regular" forum. I would argue why SMG wasn't given the nod for the GOTY or why GoWII wasn't given a shot.

I think the problem with these nominations is that they were done back in October, before people knew how good or, not as good as expected, some games were. I.E. Mario Galaxy=awesome, should be GOTY based on its reviews alone. Mass Effect= not GOTY material based on reviews, didn't live up to the hype(but it was nominated long before any reviews were written). Uncharted= best console graphics, but not nominated for best graphics? Of course, the nominations took place before a substantial amount of media for Uncharted was released...

And I still gotta point out...NFS for best racing game? Utter crap. Motorstorm should be in that spot instead.

4 what, flops? and our first year was a lot better than cows give it credit of being. they only focused on Gears but there's been a steady stream of games for the system since launch...Gears was just the best one that year. it wasn't even the reason why i brought the system 5 months after it came out. it was the other games. truthfully i didn't even buy Gears until a month or two after it came out and it never was my favorite game. thats why ignorance is funny, cows talk all this mess without even researching or testing the waters. the talk about the 360 the first year it came out was about how many games it had to play. now that the year is gone cows seem to forget that and say we only had Gears.

now, can u go against ur awful ways and do some research about the great line-up of games the 360 has coming next year. not just NG2 more than a few other games, exclusives at that. yes, they're not proven franchises but thats how frachises begin, a good first game. the thing is, 360 games actually turn out to be good....ps3 games turn out to be shallow.

you do know these games were nominated by reviewers from all the major sites and magazines right? these nominations weren't put together by a Spike tv board...they were nominated by the gaming industry. the people that reviewed the games and know the ins and outs of gaming...for the most part. they have reasons for these nominations.

and no conspiracy theories please. these nominations were just release...all these games have been reviewed. so what did they miss? or are they suppose to keep playing em and keep playing em until they decide to give the ps3 some pity like cows do?

i've said over n over that i plan on getting one, a ps3. but with the games it has out now it doesn't seem worth it. i'm really interested in playing uncharted, but thats one game and it's short with nothing else to it besides SP. i'm not one to play SP missions over and over so uncharted isn't a selling point to me even with my interest. the ps3 needs more complete games that make the system attractive, point blank. a 7 or 8 hour roller coaster isn't enough, which seems to be the pattern with ps3 games.

so you'll eventually get a ps3 when the games come out....then when the gameson the ps3 come out and you'll finally get one then you can say the 360's games are lacking or the graphics for it has reached its limits. And all i paly on the 360 are shooters,,, you know, stuff like that.

actually no i'm not. why would each site or magazine pick there own nomination? there'd be maybe 20 or 40 nominations for each category or a lot of double and triple picks. i don't even know why u would thinkthey'd do that. the nominations were probably voted on by each and the top four or five nominated. that makes more sense.

The fact that Insomniac isn't mentioned is mind blowing, they release two of the PS3s top games within 1 year of each other, one of which was a launch title for a brand new system. Both of which contain a high amount of polish, and not even a nod? Seriously WTF?

I'm sick of people who say that Uncharted is an eight hour game without replayability.

The game willbe much longer thaneight hours unlessyou play on easy or rush through it on medium.

However, beating the game on hard is actually difficult and it took me 13 hours to beat it. (you get a chapter select option after beating the game)

After that, I'm going to play on the "Crushing" difficulty that I unlocked afterbeating the game once.

Then, I'm going to revisit the each chapter to find all 60 treasures.

Next, I'm going to play through and earn all 47 medals.

And finally, I'm going to enjoy the rewards I've earned from collecting all 1000 points from the medals. I might want to go through certain levels w/ the AK47rambo style or use the grenade launcher and go GTA style, or have some fun w/ melee and stealth kills Splinter Cell style.

And I haven't even mentioned the amazing graphics and highly underrated summer blockbuster feel and story that the game has. It's like an awesome movie that you'll want to watch/play over and over again.

Seriously, this game has tons of replayability and aspects to appeal to every kind of gamer. The 8 that Gamespot gave it is one of the most underrated scores I've seen thus far. This game hasn't been getting the attention it deserves from the media.

like i said, i'm not, and other people, don't sit around playing the same game over and over. same game as in a game's single player(i would say campaign but ps3 games don't seem to have multiplayer for some reason). multiplayer and online can be a different story. but whats the point of playintg the same game over and over unless you don't have any other real options.

another thing, i have an Xbox n i give two s**** about getting achievments, i just like it when i get one when i do. but the thing with uncharted, its just for that one game so it's basically pointless to do anyway...what r u goin to do pop the game in every time a friend comes over "look i got all the points" ur freinds, "...ok". get a 360 so the points actually stay to ur gamertag, add up, and mean something.

plus, whats with the bragging on Uncharteds awards(or whatever they are) now...before the game cows were making the 360's achievements the butt of every joke and how pointless they are and now i'm seeing constant posts from you guys talking about getting all the points and treasures...etc, now ur addicted to them too but it was a joke to u before because it was on the 360. the hypocracy is crazy...this is exactly why you guys get jumped on so bad. everything else is trash and BS...then when u get the same thing or something close it's all the sudden it's so great, fun, makes the game replayable.
