NONE GRAPHICS!!!!!*!*!*!*!
story and gameplay doesnt matter as long as its beautiful to look at.

all depends on the game really. If its an RPG for instance story should be number one priority over gameplay b/c thats the reason ppl want to play the game and how it gets its memorabilia reaver-xI agree with this. Sometimes a game doesn't really lend itself to needing a good story, and other times, a good story is what holds a game together.

Not really. They are just the icing on the cake.
it's gotta be story.
i'm currently playing Red Faction Guerrilla, and while the gameplay of tearing buildings down is really sweet. it isn't enough to carry the game for me. i'm gonna be finishing up singleplayer story, and i'd probably forget about it.
games like GTA4, Fallout 3, MGS4, Resistance (yeah it's got enough of an immersive story/setting for me to keep playing it), inFamous, Mass Effect, Ace Combat 6 that i can play them over adn over again and not get bored.
I prefer gameplay. Story is important, but I'd rather have a kick-ass battle system than an amazing story. As long as the story is passable then it's ok by me. I'd probably still enjoy a game with an amazing story and mediocre gameplay, but I'd just rather have them flipped. Case and point: Eternal Sonata. Awesome gameplay, pretty cliche and mediocre story.
Yeah this looks like an Infamous vs Prototype poll. :PWow, story was demolished this time around...

For games I think gameplay is more important. Crappy gameplay will put me off a game far moreso than a crappy story. I think I said the same thing in your last poll.

This is true, I just don't like it when developers use that as an excuse to half ass a game.
It differs from person to person. Like many people here, I'd like to have both be at my standards, but if they can't then I'd want the story to supercede the gameplay.

it's about the only thing that keeps me interested in Dragon Age: Origins. it's Bioware (and i'll pretty much buy anything from them), and gameplay looks really meh (like ok not amazing or anything like Mass Effect), but everytime they show a snippit of story, i'm really interested.Story..i don't care if the gameplay, is blah..if it has a story that i'm interested in..i'm playing and vice versa
for me its 70% story and 30% gameplay because nowadays all shooters gameplay are becoming the same no matter what featur they try to include in the gameplay (v.a.t.s) but games like final fantasy i think are worth getting for just story
