I am trying to replace the hard drive on my playstation 3, 60-gb hard drive and as soon as I tried to unscrew the blue screw it was very hard to turn so, I now have stripped screw head and need help in taking the damned blue screw out? HELP. any one.

Thanks for the info and I just ordered the screw exactrator tool to remove for about 20 dollars versus sending the whole unit for 150 hopefully the tool will work. I reply once I get the tool to remove the hard drive if it is success or not.

Sounds good. The PS3 has some tough screw. Make sure that you are using the exact screwdriver for the job.

I did that ones with the tiny screws on the HDD tray.

I used these giant tweezer things. It's like a garage tool. I can't even remember what it's called.

Anyway, I'm having a similar issue with a severely damaged screw head on my Xbox 360's hard drive. I'll probably just take it somewhere that can precision drill it out for me.

dude you did not need to spen $20 some pliers will work perfectly or if you wanna spend money go to walmart or somewhere cheap and get some small vice grips for about $5

Okay... 1. Old thread

2. put the screwdriver in the screw, apply a lot of your weight onto the screwdriver (that way it wont be able to move around in the screw slot and strip it even more) then get a pair of big pliers and crank on it.

btw, next time remember to use the biggest sized screwdriver that will work

Bigger screwdriver = More Leverage = easier to pull the screw out
