tekken 5 DR vs virtua fighter 5? need to decide

I personally have always prefered tekken, but i just recently got VF5 for the ps3. and the moves are so much harder IMO it makes it feel more deep. neovalkyr

I would go with Tekken. I had VF5 and I traded it in a day or two playing with it. I feel you can pull out your moves better in Tekken than VF5 imo.

If you have some talent (that is, if you're capable of remembering combinations of buttons and not button mashing) - get virtua fighter

If you're incapable of pressing the required key sequences - get tekken like the lamos who posted earlier.

I never said every Tekken player is a button masher but actually becoming a skilled player is kinda pointless when a 6 year old who picks a certain caracter and hits square repeatedly completely owns you.

ez tekken hands down, if u dont have any friends around who play VF5, then whats the point really? I dont have friends who play either in RL, but I can at least go online and own some ppl with actually skills and combos anytime i want.

Tekken isnt just button-mashing, sure u can win that way against an unskilled opponent but if ur playing some1 who is actually good u wont get very far.

If anyone is getting beaten in Tekken by 6 year old button mashers, then

1) They too are pathetic button mashers who don't know the value of blocking

2) Don't understand Tekken's system of blocking/parrying/sidestepping to create and opening in your opponent

I watch my brother who's like 7th Dan or something like that and the matches last about 5 times as long as the ones with the noob because people are playing the game correctly.

That said, having both games in the household between me and my brother, I enjoy T:DR's community more because it seems people are a tad more mature, less serious, and more interested in having a good time, then VF5's absolutely UNBEARABLE E-peen ambassadors.

To all VF5 players who feel to constantly insult and alienate people online, GET OVER YOURSELF. VF5's players are all Halo fans anyway and I quit that game online because they were all gangsters on welfare who felt the need to let you know they "owned you're noob ass"

Im a tekken fan but i have vf 5. None of my button mashing friends could beat me in tekken. Although i do agree that if you just mash buttons you can pull of some combos, which isnt possible for most of the VF characters. The timing on some of the VF moves are extremely unforgiving, like having to push 10 buttons in less than 3 secs, although if you use the trigger buttons you can easily pull some of them off.

All in all VF is deeper but the moves lack flair and feel lame. Not to mention that the characters in VF 5 look like total crap.

rofl. yeah i felt the sameway too and agreed with that score. i only played the game twice and never again.

in response to TC, get Tekken because it's more fun. VF5 feelsweird because of the STIFF movement. Tekken on the other hand is more flexible.

Tekken is faster and easier to get into but the gameplay can get really deep if you play a skilled player. If you have friends you'll pick up Tekken because of how easy it is to get into over VF5.

I have both of them! Sadly I might add! Tekken is much much better than Virtua Fithter 5......VF5 is just too damn hard. It's too fustrating to lear anything in it. If you like a hard game...that takes forever to learn and master and you really really have time on your hands and you like a fighting game with a few caracters and no storiline than VF5 is your game. If you need something that's more fun and actually enjoyable then get Tekken 5 DR untill Tekken 6 hits!HunAndras1984

That's the great thing about VF though. You really have to know your move set with WHATEVER character you have. Tekken can be deep for gameplay but it doesn't touch VF's deepness. I've played so many matches in VF4 and VF5 and Tekken 5. When you get good with a character in VF you feel unstoppable. It's just a great feeling. Tekken can just be broken sometimes and it fustrates me... But I'd still get Tekken5 DR cause it's online and you'll play awesome players on there.
