We all know when you pop in the newest edition to your collection to your newest generation console, there is always that first "WOW" when you get to see the graphics, but what about when you get that legendary wow from gameplay? (most recently)(i mean when you were just blown away)

For me, it was Prince of persia, I remeber i broke my leg, so I rented it for something to do, and I was amazed, I couldnt put it down, and is still one of my most favorite games.

another was Shadow of the Clossus, the first boss my jaw was hitting the floor.

What about you guys?

eh a fellow caker...

most recent WOW moment was first time playing Burnout 3... never played any of them before.. and i had been renting a few destructive car games at that time... so i decide to rent burnout... my jaw dropped... the Road Rage mode was like a drug... ended up buying the game and even got that force feedback steering wheel to enjoy it in a different way... couple wobbly pops and Road Rage became better known as"Roadglsh Raglsh" around the house

The first time i got a sniper headshot in gears, and the head exploded. Me and three friend bought the game and went online. That first headshot we all screamed "HOLY S***!" at the same time. It was crazy and funny.

My first WoW moment for PS3 was when I played the Motorstorm demo at Walmart. My jaw literally dropped to the floor.

For the PS2 it was God of War. That game was awesome.

Okay, going for all my previous owned consoles:

Sega Megadrive/Genesis: Sonic, never seen a fast paced game like that before, plus, pretty graphics. So my first WOW factor for gameplay was in essence one of the first Megadrive games. Then came Earthworm Jim.

For my PSone: Metal Gear Solid. Compared to other games, MGS didn't have very good graphics, but the whole experience was WOW.

For the PS2: God of War and Shadow of the Colossus. All other games on the PS2 were in essence repeats of the gameplay shown on the PS1, so these 2 games were very refreshing in terms of gameplay. GTA3 must also be on this list.

For my (competitor starting with M): Nothing really special right now, but Crackdown was somewhat refreshing.

For my PS3: FlOw. But nothing for full fledged games yet.

Had a lot of wow moments in gameplay.. :P

Sonic with the rollercoaster action so faaaast,
Mario with the awesome powerups!,
Mortal kombat Fatalities much?,
Killer instinct Hyper combo,
Double Dragon I can catch their fists!?!,
Metal gear solid.. What do you mean I need to avoid the bad guys?,
Crash bandicoot why am I running towards the screen ?!?,
Gex the gecko (ps1) .. I can climb walls ? Enter tv's !? ,
Metal gear solid 2 .. Fire extinguishers show lasers? blind gaurds? steam out of pipes!? Hold up?! shoot the walky talky?! glas breaks so real!THEY CAN SEE MY SHADOW!? (many more :P)
Jak & daxter .. I can go everywhere I can see?!
Grand theft auto 3... Prostitutes give health?!

Man I could go on for quite a while.. But on the ps3 ? a wow moment in gameplay .. not yet.. not yet. well maybe flipping a driver the bird while you are next to him and then punching him off the bike.. more a muahahhaha moment though.

I don't know if this counts, but I went to Universal Studios and got picked toplay Sonic and Knuckles in front of a live audience.

I was about 7 years old watching my uncle play Resident Evil. The dogs jumping through the windows in that long hallway...'nuff said.

First PlayStation game I ever played, Gex. The dirty-mouthed gecko...he was awesome.

First PlayStation game I ever played whenI got my PlayStation when I was 9 years old, Resident Evil 2. Taking control of Leon and not knowing how to shoot the gun, and getting eaten alive.

Beating Metal Gear Solid as a 9 year old(almost 10). The crowning accomplishment of my life.

Playing MGS2 and seeing Snake rappell off of the George Washington Bridge, the first game I had ever seen on a PS2 in person.

Playing my first ever online game, SOCOM II and getting ripped apart in my first try at the game on the map 'Blizzard' and going about 0-9.

I think my next 'wow' gameplay moment has yet to be seen. Assassin's Creed? MGS4? We shall see.

When I played Gears online, took out me shotty and blew someone up. I know it's nothing now, but it was so tight, cause thaty was like the day it came out, and I didn't know the shotty was that good.

On PS3, prolly when I played a Big Rig for the first time, and managed to get 3 bikes up against a wall at the same time and smash em. Two bodies were spewed out in front of my Big Rig and I ran em over :P

My first wow moment ever was when I first stumbled across FFVII, from that time forward all gaming changed for me and that would be the one game I could ever say that changed my life (so to speak)..

This Gen I would probly have to say Oblivion when I walked out and saw the dears running through the mist over the hills and I realized that gaming had reached a whole new level.. true beauty hey, but I have wow moments all the time infact Bioshock has been my most recent.. damn they have done a great job with that game!..

FFVII biggest wow moment of my life though =)

FF7 story wise was awesome back in the day, probably the game I most vividly remember.
Also Motorstorm was a real treat, when using first person view and motion sensing.

my first wow moment this gen was with oblivion. You step out of the prison and its like "woah, i can go ANYWHERE i want!". Amazing...

last gen, i had a few wow moments. I remember playing the Indigo Prophecy demo and thinking it was super good with the atmosphere, the split screen 24/spooks/hustle style, the controls, the actual storyand thenumber of gameovers you could get in the demo alone was pretty insane. The game itself was pretty wow until the end when it was more "wtf!?"

Shadow of the collossus too was crazy. Coming up to the first collossi i was like O_O... and he was pretty small compared to some of the others!

And going back to old school times, Sonic the Hedgehog was amazing with the super speedy-ness. I remember it was pretty mind-bogglingly good it the time!

The first level on Cod 3, when you step over the wall and see hundreds of soldiers going at it. Doesn't get any better then that for me.

I'm playing Oblvion (360, PS3, doesn't really matter), and I'm going through the secret tunnel, then I go into the sewers, and I kill all the goblins, and I kill all the rats, I adjust my spells, my weapons, my armor, and I finally make it to the end of the sewers. After the brief loading time, my WOW moment came up, seeing how bright and beautifal Oblivion was.

Definitely the first time I played Motorstorm. I don't play it these days but it was the first game I played on my PS3 so therefore I think it's hard to beat your first next gen moment. The first game I bought for my PS2 was GT3 I got that same WOW factor back then. I'm sure the next time this will happen will be when I get a PS4:P

PS1: FF9 and 8. The effects during battles were mind blowing.

PS2: MGS2, MGS3, Shadow of the Colossus.

PS3: Resistence, soon to be Oblivion and Heavenly Sword (graphics only I am not impressed by its gameplay).

Each of these games made me say "WOW"
