Personally, I believe that fans of MAG will be far more dedicated to the game than Battlefield: Bad Company 2 fans will be. Essentially, Battlefield is far more mainstream, and so people are likely to move on to the next big thing much more than dedicated fans of a game like MAG will be. Take SOCOM: Confrontation for example - it's not mainstream at all, but apparently it was (summer last year) the 'biggest online PS3 game'.

Don't quote me on that, but it's just the way I see it.

Totally wrong. MAG will have a dedicated fanbase for years- take Warhawk & SOCOM for example. The BF: BC series has nowhere near the popularity of something like Modern Warfare so I can't see it stealing away a large chunk of MAG's userbase. And MAG won't suddenly stop selling after 2 months. I'm keeping MAG and will be getting BC 2.

Paying a fee for a game you bought months after it came out is a big deal imo, so I feel there pain.

what game is that?

I never picked up MAG because BF Bad Company 2 is coming out and I'm still playing Killzone 2 and COD MW2.

I think I am going to pick up MAG sooner or later because I know it will likely have a community for a long time just like Socom and Warhawk (I still have friends that play Warhawk and I'll play it with friends with splitscreen), but I have some catch-up to do with sp games

It saddens me to announce that MAG will be the shortest lived online shooter of all time! Believe me when I say that once BFBC 2 hits the stores, there will be many, many, many copies of MAG being traded towards EA/DICE's superior title. Why would anyone keep playing MAG when BFBC 2 gives you the viceral feeling of being in a war while supplying the team based gametypes that everyone is applauding MAG for. I bought MAg the day it came out and played the crud out of it. Now its two plus weeks later and MAG is done for me!!! 256 players doesn't make a game great!!!

BF BC2 only has like 12 player teams, and BF 2142 from over 4 years ago had 32 player teams, that a bit of a step down don't you think? i played the beta for a little while and didn't find it that great, there needs to be more destructible building and deformable terrain, and the starting gun is horrible.
