I voted God of War, but can someone explain to me why Ninja Gaiden isn't on that list?

Yeah and Onimusha. TC should have put these 2 games in poll instead of HS and Darksiders.I voted God of War, but can someone explain to me why Ninja Gaiden isn't on that list?

[QUOTE="Swift_Boss_A"]WTH! Why is GOW winning? Look I know everyone is really excited about GOW3 but that doesn't mean it's the best hack n' slash game ever. As far as Im concerned Devil May Cry was the pioneer of the genre, maybe there were hack games before it but DMC really exploded the genre into the 21st century. My god was that game awesome, still stacks up well today I gotta say and Dante is the best character of the decade!crazypal
man calm down :) I do agree that devil may cry was the first to "Explode" the genre although you might wanna consider onimusha, I mean the setting, the devils, the red orbs for upgrading weapons and green one for health, all this craziness really started with onimusha, the other games just made things quicker.
we're not talking who did things first, we're talking the best. and even so don't let others opinions upset you. you think it's the best and that what counts :)
from the list I prefer Heavenly Sword, but Champions of Norath is the first thing that came to mind. I tried GOW and didn't like it.
For me, Bayonetta has taken the crown on this one. It plays so well that I'm not suprised how much praise it is getting based on the reviews. I'll give credit to DMC and GOW though, these 3 are just great to play.
God of War because it doesn't have those silly combo's on screen and the grading at the end of each damn level. Seriously what's the point.

to get as high as you can on the leaderboards. To compare yourself to other players. I thought it was pretty obvious.

But it just ruins the game for me, I don't want numbers over my screen, why can't it just rate you after you completed the game. >_>
Bayonetta was bad for me too, the main character was some kind of half naked whore, it would of been good without the sexual stuff and numbers.
Kratos stole my heartever sincethe battle with the hydra. i love the anti-hero in him. hes not saving anyone but himself and he kills everyone in his path. and i personally think hed tear everyone on that list a new one. a man who has walked in and out of hell twice, whilst making it his b!tch is not to be trifled with.
i have a feeling kojima is going to wow us all with his take on castlevania though.
You guys seriously don't get enough cutty buddy in ur life if yaw seriously think bayonetta is the best hack n slash game I mean don't get it twisted I like the game to but damn I get enough sex to know that just cuz a game has a girl getting naked in a game doesn't mean its the best of all like seriously guys don't take this the wrong way its just a question but how many of you get some?Eazy1891
MAYBE...JUST MAYBE those people enjoyed the combat more than they did in other games.
You shouldn't jump to conclusions such as people only think its a good hack n slash game cause of the the sex appeal.
Besides, most people who get enough in "real life" dont brag about it online.
peace
Oh yeah, I vote Heavenly sword. The game was flipping epic.

Do sexual themes offend you? Perhaps embarrass you for some wierd reason?

I'm sorry that that game is too sexual for your taste. As already stated, it's not about bayonetta being sexual that makes the game appealing, it's the combat. Very technical, fast paced, and constantly action-packed, the game plays perfectly. It's all opinions, but it sucks that because of the sexuality, you're missing out on a top notch title. As many say, it's what devil may cry 4 should have been.
The sexual innuendos and such are meant to be humorous. Everything in bayonetta is over the top from that, to the combat, to the cheesy one-liners. I also find it funny that you choose your game library according to how the game would appear to your girlfriend.
On a side note, me and my buddy were switching off on deaths in hard mode recently, and his girlfriend was watching/laughing at some of the cutscenes with us. But then again, there really isn't any sexual tension in their relationship so there really isn't a whole lot to be embarassed about. I dunno about your situation tho.

Hah, there's no sexual tension between us both, I just think she'd look and say "why are you playing this?" to each his own I guess.
I liked the gameplay a lot, it's the numbers everywhere and sexual innuendo's that put me off though. ^_^

I would answer, 'because it's fun'
devil may cry and ninja gaiden both rate you after every level. Do you feel the same way about those games?
also, this is a pretty interesting read. It's a females perspective on bayonetta's sexuality: http://kotaku.com/5457308/bayonetta-was-not-too-sexy-but-maybe-too-serious
The most complex yet intuitive? Bayonetta.
The easiest to pick up and play without being a mashfest? Bayonetta.
Fffffuuu... now I wanna play.

Yeah I do, I managed to get halfway on Devil May Cry 3 though.
Nero went multi-plat. not Dante.Easily God Of War.
Bayonetta cant compete with kratos, and dante's lost his skill since he went multiplat.hot_shot_9
I love Diablo series. Still waiting for Diablo 3.Are you ignoring the Diablo series?

I consider all of those action games. The only hack n slash game that's decent is Untold Legends Dark Kingdom, but then again it's my favorite game! loljjtiebuckleyou should go back and play Champions of Norath or Balders Gate: dark Alliance on the ps2
Bayonetta by a huge margin, ok, not so huge, but definitely for me Bayonetta, i haven't played Heavenly Sword, but i doubt it's better than Bayonetta.
IMO, is like this, Bayonetta > DMC3 > NGB > DMC4 > GOW 2 > GOW > DMC > NGZ and no, is not like i didn't like GOW 2 or DMC , actually i enjoyed a lot all this games, this is just the way i feel about them.
Unbiased professionals have stated that Bayonetta is THE state of the art Hack n' Slash. But a Playstation 3 forum voted on the exclusive God of War. It's no fun having a poll with anything Kratos related, is there?SymphonycomethPeople just love Kratos... GOW has established a new somewhat different Hack n' Slash style, it is also the only game of its ''genre'' that managed to take an in depth look inside the main character's story and personality. Now take all that stuff combined in a dark and violent fashion, the result is Kratos fighting with his own nightmares in an attempt to murder a God... i mean c'mon i can't think of any other game as epic as GOW. And yes Bayonetta is probably the state of art Hack n' Slash game, that is why people liked it(i bet many of you who played the game didn't even bother to comprehend the story), but in GOW you were also interested about the plot, you were a part of it and it was exciting... Yet we wait for GOW3 to see the end of Kratos' quest! I don't want to compare these two games since it would be nonsense, i'm just trying to underline some basic differences.

I advise anyone with a BC PS3 to give Dark Alliance 2 a play through. Beats most modern "hack n slash aka action" games today.. until Diablo 3. Blizzard hates black consoles.
Champions of Norrath, Bujingai, Onimusha (which is more deep) and the KOEI Warriors series are my favorites.

Wow, cause most hack and slash games have such DEEP interesting stories. I do like the bayonetta and GoW stories, but its hardly a strong point for the genre :P
GoW1: Mythological setting, Kratos wants revenge on Ares
GoW2: Kratos wants revenge on Zeus
GoW3: Kratos wants revenge on Zeus..still.
Dont be hating me now! Ive said, pre warning, i love love love God of war! Im juuust making a point :P

If they come out with a PS3 with half the features, blood red and Kratos face on it for twice the price, many will run out and get it.
