How long has your Sixaxis controller lasted? I'd like to know because I have some cash to buy myself a Dualshock 3 controller, but I'd also like to buy myself a new game. I have the constant fear of my Sixaxis breaking, I've had it for roughly 10 months so how long do you think I have to go, is it worth taking a risk and buying a new game or should I buy a new controller?

I've gone through about 3 or 4 mostly because of call of duty, the analogs get really loose. My dualshock controllers are much better.

Don't know but i have had mine for almost 2 years and it still works great. Only reason i bought another controller was because i wanted a dualshock 3 + play multiplay.

I've had my PS3 since last March of 2008, never bought a DS3, used the same Sixaxis since then... it's still around... though my analogs are starting to get messed up.

When I first read the title I thought it was going to be some documentary about your controller lol.:P

But really I have had 2 sixaxis' for the more than 2 years Ive had my ps3. And theyve both worked fantasticly up to now. In fact just yesterday one broke, so I guess Im getting a Dualshock3 finally. But the other sixaxis is still kickin stronger than ever.

Well if you want a documentary on it I'll write one ha ha ha. Thanks guys, think I may just buy myself a new game then, looks like my Sixaxis still has some life in it.

Don't the controllers last for a very long time? I've had mine since early 2008, dropped it a thousand times, and there's no thing wrong about it. And I've had my PS2 controller for about 8 years aswell.

About 18 months. I've put several hundred hours into it. I actually prefer it to my Dualshock 3 for the lighter weight and I really don't care for the vibration.

Yeh i think i have the same problem with mine. I dont know if its from COD, but my left analog stick is loose. I neva noticed it at until i started playing RE:5, if i release the sticks Leon usualy starts moving forward really slowly. Thinking of picking up a new one with rumble soon. Ps- is it a fact tht this problem is due 2 COD? i asume its bcoz of having to hold the stick in 2 run. bcoz if it is i will only use my already-loose controller on games wich i have 2 hold the analogue stick in 2 run, to save my new 1 from a similar fate. Thnaks.

your scared to get a controller? get with it man! just get one! it vibrates. imo, a controller with out vibration feature is not worth having.

Just stop using your controller and it wont break... just kidding. The Dual Shock 3 is ETERNAL!!! Oh, well, at least mine is. I've put this thing through hell over the past year or more, and it still holds charge and plays just fine. Its not like the 360 controllers. These things are pretty sturdy. One thing I would suggest, though, is to eventually get another one. You will have two for multiplayer games, and when playing single player you can keep them both charged and switch them out when they get low. This way you never have to plug in, and you will not put too much wear and tear on just one controller. For now, though, its safe to go with the game. Get KillZone 2!!!

I have 4 controllers, two dualshocks and two sixaxis. I bought one sixaxis used I don't think the motion sensing on it works, not sure though. Other than that all my controllers work perfectly even the 18 month old sixaxis.

The dualshock 3 is much better than the sixaxis. The analogs in the sixaxis won't last as long as DS3's.

My sixaxis (2) feel like they hold a much longer charge but the analogs on both are messed up, too much COD 4 on both :p for my DS3 I'll say I charge it more but the analogs still feel like new, to me atleast.

i've had 2 sixaxis controllers since launch and they've held up fine. while i prefer the more substantial weight of the ds3 and the overall feel, i don't have money and i'd much rather get a new game than a new controller. once you're playing you don't even really notice it.

read the question, he is talking about how long the controller life is not the battery life before needing charged.

So I just got my first PS3 from ebay, practically new. When I turned on the console, at the homepage it told me to turn on the ps button on my sixaxis (not dual shock). When I did, the homepage kept scrolling up and down super fast and couldn't control it. The only buttons that seem to work are the x o tri and squ. buttons. Arrows don't work. I then tried putting a game in to play when i turned on the console to skip the homepage. It worked, but when I got to the game, only the x and o buttom works. I tried syncing in the controller but nothing. Anyone have any suggestions?

Mine sixaxis controller has worked since december 06. The only thing that got busted was the charger link. But other than that it is pretty good. What are people doing to their analog sticks to make them loose? honestly. If you play that rough with a controller, then you deserve to break it. Also blaming a single game for the imparment of a controller or for a console to stop working like reading discs is retarded.

I've had 2 since launch and they still hold up great for the most part the one I play with most often is great while the one I let other play with the right thumb stick sticks up sometimes but its still not a big deal. I still play with both and I have no problems. I'll get a DS3 after some sort of price drop or if a pawn shop gets any $60 is just far too steep for a controller.

That's not retarded back in my PS2 days budokai 3 claimed one of my controllers. They were only $25 back then so it wasn't a big deal now I'm more careful seeing how expensive they are.
