Sorry if this has been asked before, I have a few questions about the PS Vita.
I know that the 3g version also has built in GPS. Is there any significant reasons for that? I mean are there any games that take advantage of that feature in a good way? Or is it just a novelty with no real value?
Also, the Wi-Fi only version, has anyone tried tethering through a mobile phone? Are there any specific issues with the tethering?
Thanks in advance
bh
I can't speak for mobile tethering, but the GPS is just used for location detection. The only real benefit to having GPS and 3G is that you'll be able to use Google Maps for directions while you're on the road, away from your internet connection. You'd also be able to use Near outside of WiFi, but the next firmware update will allow offline syncing, and the app isn't enough of a draw to make GPS worthwhile. If you've got a phone and you're equipped for mobile tethering, I'd see no reason to recommend you get the 3G Vita.Granpire
Cool, thanks for that, that's pretty much what I expected..

Hey guys, looking to take advantage of buying the Vita during Black Friday. I believe the best sale out there is the $200 bundles that come with the 4GB memory card and either AC or CoD. I'm looking to buy the black model, but it comes with CoD which I hear isn't very good. Also, it seems as if the 4GB memory card is pretty much useless aside from some game saves. Would the best course of action be for me to get the CoD bundle, trade in CoD for another game and then buy an extra memory card? For example, if I buy this bundle at Best Buy would I be able to trade in CoD for another game there, or is it actually a good game and not worth it to trade in at all? Also would you recommend I buy another memory card, and if so, which one?
Edit: Is the Crystal White a limited edition color? Because if it is I'm probably better off getting that; rare color and a better game. Most of all my previous handheld purchases are in black though so it would take some getting used to lol. It's very pretty and would be a nice complement to my 3DS.
I know black is notorious for fingerprints, but it seems as if white is more prone to dirt and permanent wear which is a much worse culprit. Can anyone who has previous experience with white handhelds tell me how they hold up? Do they become worn and dirty with constant use? I assume it depends on the material as well. I'm the type of person who will wash my hands before every use if my handheld is prone to discoloration.
Quick question, I'd like to get a PSP but I want the cheapest option possible when combined with a decent enough memory card for both saves and PS one classics. I think the PSP Go is out of the question, I'd like a UMD drive, but if I remember correctly wasn't there a really cheap PSP model released at some point in the past few years? Like one of those consoles that are stripped down to the basics, such as the Xbox Arcade?
So i'm getting a PSP this week, as a christmas gift of course, and I was wondering the the differences were bewteen this two.
PSP 3000 recharged / refurbished
PSP 3000 (just with AC and Battery)
I know its like a 10 dollar difference, but I can't really see much difference bewteen the two. Just seems like the recharged version gets extra bells and whistles...that true?Or is there any real difference? Or perhaps they're just nicer looking? I don't know.
