Aside from being in japanese so I can't understand what the hell they are saying.

I didn't enjoy it personally, the camera controls fustrated me, made it hard to sometimes see whats directly in front of Snake. And it being in Japanese didn't help either.
I agree. Incredible demo. And it being in Japanese was even better! You should have seen the look on my family's faces when I walked by with the PSP volume maxed and that guy screaming Japanese at you in the tutorial.
I love your sig btw lol. It's been a staple in my system wars sales argument for a while now lol.I agree. Incredible demo. And it being in Japanese was even better! It was cool, but alot in the game needs to be worked on, such as the controls and the gameplay, but other than that, it was fun.
It actually reduced my excitement for the game exponentially. The lack of crawling, the terrible AI, and the fact that the pause menu doesn't....you know...PAUSE THE GAME. I was very disappointed. Still will pick it up as I'm an MGS sucker, and I'll most likely find something to love about it, but... the demo wasn't doing it for me. raven_squad
Well in real life you cant "pause," and it seems that they are taking this approach. You can just set your psp on standby tho

Being on a portable system, the lack of a pause feature is ridiculous not matter how you try and justify it.That's been a franchise staple, not being able to pause or click through (or even rewind) cut scenes in MGS. I might even give it a try... just nice to see a thread on here that doen't mention the "You Know What". I haven't played a MGS title since "MGS2"...
Has nothing to do with the cutscenes. I'm talking about mid level, mid action. Yeah the controls are a bit hard and will probably take a while to get used to but i think the game looks great. I hope they change the controls a bit before they bring it out, if they do then i'll be alot more interested.

Same here. I love to see the reaction from Lemmings when I bring that up.
yeah i think the demo is pretty impressive (even though i dont speak or read japanese). I think when the US demo comes out it will be more enjoyable and being able to set the control scheme will help. I'm not a huge metal gear fan, but i'm curious to see if the final product is very good.

Right on. Again, dude... no offense intended. So soften your words if you didn't mean to jump my ****. You come off a bit forceful and defensive.
The reason why I posted that was a discussionI heard on GameSpot's podcast a few months ago where they were talking about the lack of pause and/or rewind in the series, and how inconvenient it can be. Did you try using the "Home" button to see if that would pause the game? I know it's not the traditional way of getting a break in the game but I've used it on other titles in a pinch.
just a thought.

Sorry if It seems that way... I certainly don't mean to come off like that. I tend to just be abrupt and to the point I guess. I'm likely to not change my ways, but just remember that no offense is intended, and I'm almost 100% likely not offended by anything you've said either. :)EDIT: Oh, and I tried the Home button. Didn't work.
