The Playstation 3 Becoming To Be A Huge Letdown...

Alright before I start, I am in no way a troll or fanboy. Matter of fact, I traded in my Xbox to get a PS3. Hearing it was better and come on, FREE ONLINE! Well...that hype didnt last long. Besides the PS3 being in the console game for more than 2 years now. They have yet to do anything for it that they claimed would be done when it came out, now I had a Xbox before experiencing the dreaded RROD. I looked to the PS3 to be better, honestly, horrible lags almost 80% out of 100% is what im usually getting, hardly no downloads or demos, not even good ports of older games. I mean come on Sony, the Xbox had over 300 demos and arcade games, and this was back in April when I had it last, I got on PSN in May and the top demos they have now are still from that month, its freaking almost October! I honestly miss my Xbox, and another thing that has peeved me off beyond belief, the snobbyness and arrogance of Sony has made me want to sell my PS3. Did you hear about the major price cuts of the consoles this fall? Xbox has been reduced to 200$, Wii has been reduced down to a lower price, and the PS3...Sony refuses to lower the price... :|

They refuse! All the money theyve made, they wont let it go under 400 dollars...that is so selfish and so stuck up. Yahoo already said the PS3 is doing horrible in sells, and thats not all. Sony isnt doing hardly anything to rush us anything good. LBP sure, Hopefully Home...okay. But the most games out are ports on the xbox also, nothing exclusive, and dont bash me with the MGS4 game, thats old news, I beat that when it came out. Im looking for something new! Xbox has Halo 3, Gears of War, had Bioshock but now is coming to the PS3. But most of the majority has played that game already, we arent getting anything to brag about like the 360. Now I see why most people risk the RROD, I wish I got a new xbox by sending it in, but no...I had to go the way I thought was the best, my friends told me to get one, cuz someone stole their 360's. Now that im on PSN, nothing is here! I have hardly no friends I know except 4. On Live on Xbox, I had over 100. No exaggeration, we played so many games it wasnt funny, and it was fun. To play and talk to them, my friend and I would always make fun of games like AO2 and Aegis Wing, they were free demos. (Army of 2 by the way) And now im on PS3, I lost not only that, but my excitement in my games, theres nothing here to enjoy. Im depressed on how Sony can do so much better but refuse to sit here and listen to there buyers, but no, they rather listen to there money. I honestly miss Halo 3, online playing. I had to pay 7.99 a month, but it was sooo worth it. It 1 out of 10 chances lagged on me. But with this lagfest on PS3, I am more frustrated than having fun, last night I couldnt even get on GTA4, it kept saying trying to connect to game provider, and I was online! Im speaking the complete truth, and if you disagree, your in complete denial.

I bought one day one and I am loving every bit of it.

No, if they disagree, I really would love a backing up statement, because, its far from 2006, and yet I havent seen anything more than the statements, "WE HAVE DRAKES FORTUNE, OR HEAVENLY SWORD, OR SOME OLDER LAUNCH GAME!" Ive noticed as of late, then been so profound to start with "before I start im no" LOL Ive seen it in every form and every way. But only as of late. But its been steady and sure enough to notice.

I'm playing Disgaea 3, Wipeout HD and Mega Man 9 primarily, with some Rock Band on the side.

If all you want to do is play online shooters with a hundred random dudes you met on the internet, then maybe you own the wrong console, but I'd wait a few months, because I get the feeling SOCOM, Resistance 2, Killzone 2 and even Call of Duty World at War are going to be a big deal.

We get lots of demos, so I don't know what you're yammering on about there.

But there are alot of games that are coming to the ps3 from the end of this year to the end of next that makes me happy to have a ps3 now.

Couple months ago I wasnt to happy owning a ps3 just because there are a few games on the 360 that id really like to own, also a couple of my friends own a 360 so it makes online with the ps3 kinda boring knowing nobody in person. Eh also hearing FF moving to the 360 too felt like a kick in the nuts, If i knew this I wouldve bought a 360 instead. :|

PS3 owners the tough times have pasted, atleast we dont have to worry about our ps3 blowing up randomly.

I agree 100% that the ps3 doesn't have a online shooter of halo3 quality, but resistance one was really good and so was cod4.

Really though the libraries are very equal

360: halo3, gears of war 1+2, mass effect, forza 2, Braid, Geometry Wars.

ps3: Uncharted, R&C, Resistance, MGS, Motorstorm, PJ Eden/monsters, Warhawk, Superstardust HD.

I honestly think the libraries are comparable.

Your connection problems shocked me because my ps3(wireless) runs very comparable to my 360(wired).

I am impressed by my ps3 and would never sell it but i am howeve unimpressed with the games so far. I'm pretty sure that's my own fault though, I am just not into most games as much as I used to be. Im still waiting for something to just totally blow me away. Haven't found that feeling yet.

I don't know about you but the only time i've experienced any lag online was the SOCOM beta and that was just ridiculous, their servers were either garbage or they didnt have enough of them, although apparently they've fixed it, but I haven't played for a while. But I play GTA4, Resistance, Warhawk, CoD4 and MGS4 all online and i've never had the slightest bit of lag, or it might have happened like once every 50 games or something, but never the way you describe it as if its constant lag, and I've also played at my cousins house online, where uses old school dial up spped internet and there never been that much lag.

And don't bring up stuff like $200 xboxs when thats a pure bait and switch move, the 200 price is on the sku that they are trying to get rid of and from my knowledge it is basically sold out in terms of stock at every retailer. Sony won't reduce price yet, because one their still not making money off the console. Two they just increased the capacities of the HDD's to 80 and 160 respectiely, which does cost money. Three, they are actually selling pretty well, considering the other consoles are cheaper.

And I don't know what you mean by no exclusives atleast this fall: MotorStorm PR, Resistance 2, SOCOM: Confrontations, LittleBigPlanet, all before Christmas. And Infamous and KZ2 in Feb. Tekken around that time as well. If I recall the only thing 360 has to brag about this fall is Gears2 and Fable 2. And by no means do I mean to put those games down. Fable's never appealed to me, but many people like it, which is fine. And the first gears was awesome fun, and I can't wait to play the second. But If I could only play one consoles games this fall I'd choose the ps3's 4 over those 2, but thats not the case for me, since i'll be playing my friends gears 2 when that comes out.

I'm sorry you don't have any friends on PSN, just go around play some online games and try to make some or make some friend on this forum. It's really not that hard. And if you want to play games on xbox so bad, surely one of those 100 friends on xbox is your real friend who's house you can just go to, to chill and play xbox.

And I would have agreed with you about lack of games about a year and a half ago, but this year, i've never had a problem of not having games to play. And the online store is getting a lot better, with Wipeout, Ratchet, Burnout, warhawk etc. And the smaller games are a lot of fun like SSHD. But to each his own, if you really cant take the ps3 then buy back the xbox, no one's holding a gun to your head. Or just save up and buy both.

Edit: Not to mention that the Blu-ray drive is the best non-gaming feature of any console ever. I love HD videos, I honestly couldn't believe how different dvd and HD looked. But now I enjoy my blu-rays and will never have to worry about buying a stand-alone bluray.

Yep, but I have other better reasons to say the 60 blows a fat one, Outside of gaming. But inside of gaming it also blows so? Well on the rare occasion that it actually does work and not break. Thats when it blows. So 30 % of the time it does not blow, it just dont work lol

I have had 360 since launch, ever since i got my ps3 about 4 months ago all the 360 has been doing is collecting dust. Sony does A LOT right they have been in the game for a while and i think its pretty apparent that they know whats up. Im not saying that Sony is without fault however there are def some issues that should be addressed but nothing major enough for "PS3 is a huge let down blahblahblah". With the list of games that are coming out (LBP>Fable 2 btw) and continued support of PSN and other features i think Sony is pretty much on track to take over gaming in the rest of this year and throughout 2009....btw did i mention that LBP>Fable2 oo yea i did. :PTrick933

No Fable 2 should be a decent game. And like a good cracker at a starving clinic. It will be eaten up by that starved side. Even the young "X gen" editors at this site, will wet their pants for it. As this is a gen, the got hooked on micro crack. But its not a plate full of goodies. I see much more from Sony "This" holiday.

I feel your pain, i love everything about the PS3 but they need to look at there servers or internet connection cause lag is pretty bad for this console... and i have the fastest internet connection that you can get.

I had an xbox b4 my PS3 but i still wouldn't trade for a 360 - i try to look at the PS3 as an entertainment console more than a gaming console... blu-ray, ability to download, access the internet, watch downloaded (not that i would ever do that) movies, listen to music and store photo's.

The PS3 is amazing if you take advantage of all its features!! but if you use it for gaming only and your background is XBox, u shouldda stuck with a 360

Just one point i wanted to make about your arguments. Sony ISNT making money on their PS3 system. They dont lower the price to 200 bucks because it would only compound the problem. Realize there is also a blu ray player in the system, which had initial cost of over 600 on its own. I apologize because i cannot remember which magazine i read the article in, but it stated that sony would need to charge over 600 just to break even on the system costs and production. So they are not being greedy and selfish, they are attempting to keep things going for the system.

We all know they have a smaller library of games. But much of that is on developers and publishers. The system is more difficult to produce games for do to the technology. Many companies, like EA, dont put the effort into the system and many times just release games on the 360. I have several games for the 360 that are 4 discs or so, and I still have to deal with long load times. I love both the sytems, but each have their downfalls. But just claiming that sony is putting the screws to you is just wrong. Once developers put time and effort into the system, it will show payoffs. Metal Gear may be old news, but when you saw what it was capable of doing, it shows what the system can do when a developer commits to it.

I quite like my ps3 in general for gaming, although I have been looking for some new games to buy, but i have to wait. Also i agree with you about psn, mostly cause sony doesnt release any of the new feats for it, in Canada.unknownceltic
