Okay, we're all outraged. That article was completely unnecessary and was clearly an attempt to mar the European launch. According to Gamespot, the PS3 isn't worth buying. But we know better, right? We'll fight this one, right?
That's why I wrote The Point of Tipping - 10 Things Gamespot Can do to Not Sound Like Raving Fanboys.
This was originally intended to be a forum post, but we all know this won't last long. I encourage you to read it while you can, and I appreciate any comments or criticisms of my article. I would like to clarify it's designed as satire only, as I really have nothing against Gamespot as a whole.
It wouldn't let my post but I'll post it here. I 100% agree with you, the mods need to stay on a leash. We can't express ourselves without having to stay inside extremely strict boundaries. When it comes right down to it, you can get moderated for ANYTHING you post. They pick at your post somehow and bring it down...hell you can get moderated for everything and I think that list should stay. AND they should listen to their paying members because they pay to use features on this site. It's just uggh, a mess right now and I really hate it.
Mmmm nice very nice. Glad you stood up for us sony fans, i tried but got banned for 5 days. Good luck and hope they see that article.Sully28
I read the ToU and the rules threads on this forum twice before posting that article. I posted it in my blog because it's more of a personal space, and the rules aren't as strict. You can pretty much let loose in your blog as long as you aren't swearing, posting porn, or talking about illegal stuff.
I'm not sure how the moderators will respond. I've said some pretty harsh things in the past without consequences, so we'll have to see. I think most people are beginning to know me as a person who's critical of Gamespot, but still willing to pay for a Total Access membership because I really want to like this site. Stupid articles like "Tipping Point" aside, it's an awesome source of information and a great community.
