The PS3 Recommendations Thread -What game should I get?- V.2.1 56K Warning

Hey, Im getting a PS3 soon but i can only get one game for now. I was considering either of the call of duty games, but if you have any better suggestions please let me know

I just bought a PS3 and was hoping for some help.

I was looking at

Valkyria Chronicles
inFamous
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Street Fighter IV
LittleBigPlanet
Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction

So i am going to buy two games right now just wonder what to get. Also it does not have to be a game off my list but i don't like sports games and also if the game is on the PC please don't list it.

I've put at least 30 hours into Valkyria Chronicles and still haven't finished it yet.

The only other games I have played on that list are InFamous and Uncharted. While both are rather entertaining, they are both on the short side. Beat Uncharted in one afternoon (without going for achievements) while InFamous took me a few days of casual playing.Bought Blaz Blue, but haven't had a chance to play it yet.

After playing the demos for RE5, Chronicles of Riddick and Dead Space, I may grab those myself. The latter two have gotten price cuts recently IIRC. Same with Valkyria Chronicles.

Hey. I am getting my ps3 repaired, and i should get it back here in a few days. Im really looking to get a good shooter. So im looking at Resistance 2 and KillZone 2. From what ive heard killzone 2 is better, but im curious what everyone thinks. I like playing games with my friend, and all but if the game isnt any good i wont want to be playing the game co-op or off co-op. Im just curious what everyone thinks.

VC is a top priority... then choose any of Uncharted and Infamous... you can save up and buy the rest anyway...

Hey there everyone, my ps3 is supposed to arrive today and i'm need to get a couple of games: I have a few in mind but I really would like a game in which, similar to God of War 3, you have your melee weapon and you get a lot of enemies around you and you just smash your button to kill them all. I played Oblivion when i used to own a 360...got bored of it ( damn vampirisim !! ), and Uncharted will last me a couple of hours only... Fallout 3 im not sure though hmmm

For anyone trying to choose a new game and they do not own Valkyria Chronicles, VC is the game you have to get. I am not a huge rpg fan, but this game is incredible. The voice acting, the visuals,the way the story is told, to the gameplay itself. The game is amazing.

Now, I just got VC a few days ago. But I am also looking for a new shooter. I have resistance 1. Would Killzone 2 or Resistance 2 be a better choice? Which one has better online?

For anyone trying to choose a new game and they do not own Valkyria Chronicles, VC is the game you have to get. I am not a huge rpg fan, but this game is incredible. The voice acting, the visuals,the way the story is told, to the gameplay itself. The game is amazing.

Thanks man. My friend has resistance 2 and either I was going to get resistance 2 or we were both going to get killzone 2. I will prolly go with resistance 2 sincie it has 8 player online co-op. Thanks again.

I'm thinking about getting The Orange Box fo my PS3. I remember when the game first came out people were saying it was "better" on the 360. Have these issues been fixed? Or would I be better off getting it on my 360? Also, I haven't played HL1, can I read the wiki page and be up to speed with what's going on in HL2?H0LLAT1P

Alright, Ive decided on eiher COD WAW or COD 4, witch one? the only reason i would consider getting COD WAW is for zombies, but if you guys think its not worth it, then le t me know. Thanx for all your help!

You will get plenty of bang for your buck with Oblivion. It looks great, has great controls and gameplay, you can easily sink a hundred hours into it and not complete everything, and it as you probably already know, it's only $20.

So if someone were hiding in a brick hut and I blew up one of its walls, would the hiding enemy get killed by the debris?

Only one of these, wich one is the best choice, fun and entertaining? why or why not one over the other
