A sensible man has emerged on the PS3 forums - I never thought I'd see the day. I completely agree with the OP. It averaged 95% at Metacritic: http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ps3/littlebigplanet?q=LittleBigPlanet
Most of the reviews gave it 100%. What a grand achievement for Media Molecule. They put together a bunch of content which relies heavily on YOU the gamer to turn it into levels. At best you move a puppet from the left side of the screen to the right - or for intense diversity you can move it from the bottom to the top. Bravo Media Molecule - truly ground breaking stuff here, worthy of 100% - 10/10 for you champ. I honestly dont know why companies like Bethesda actually make a game and a story. They should just release the construction kit from day one and make the gamers create the levels. No need for a story, no need for any kind of 'hook' to keep you coming back. Hype is great for a lot of stuff, it sold LBP to a bunch of people who actually believed the reviews. I have no doubt that playing with friends is what makes LBP such a blast - its a shame that the critics and reviewers didnt base their scores on the game from a single players perspective instead of how much 'potential' this game 'could' have with exactly the right mix of friends and creativity.

haha, were on the same page,, but you seem to despise this one a lot more than me. I actually like LBP, but its just far too little content to justify a price tag the same as MGS4, Gears2, GTA4 or most other great games. Warhawk, Socom, GT5P are good/great games, but are priced just right considering there lack of content, and LBP fits into this category. A lot of reviewers commented that they WANTED this game to succeed because it was good for gamers, i disagree. It just promotes developers to scrap together a half@$$ amount of content, and give you the tools to make more. Considering the amount of time this game was in development, there shouldve been at least 100 story levels, and at least 70 full fledged levels, and not just challenge ones (which i like, but shouldnt be considered 'levels'). My gf, who hates video games, actually liked this game,,, but even in the limited time weve played (she cant stand playing too long), shes already grown tired of whats on show.Â
If the weekly DLC is a good indication, any future levels provided by MM will come at a hefty cost, probably $7 a pop
