signore what part of you thought that a recreation of copyrighted material not belonging to the company making said game would not be prohibited. come on now let's get realistic here. if anyone actually thought that wasnt going to happen(which you know, just happens to be this thing called the law) then i dont know where their head has been. as for levels tr out no surprises, world of colour(actually a lot by geostatus are very good), sackworld, jail break, the horror of '44, mayan sane temple, the domain, night of the living skulls, robotic automatic, and grinder.

whenever i play this game with non gamers, or people who havent tried it is... usually confusion.

Its always "whats the point of the game".. "what do you do?" ... they cant get why i would play such a kiddy game, and really have no reply. And then we shut it off and play FIFA or a shooter.

When I do try to explain the community aspect, and how you create and share levels its always pretty embarassing when i show a user created level, and of course they are garbage.. and then again im asked "is this it? you paid $60 for this?"

This game completely failed at its attempt to draw in casual gamers, and its far too shallow and not very user friendly for hardcores. This game has sold so miserably because it doesnt know what it wants to be, and lacks identity.

I'll give it until January, and if nothing is done about it I'll likely sell it for a real game, one that has "a point".

I cant believe IGn gave it a 9.5

You gave into others opinions .. you have let them influence you on your take of a game .. they've made you second guess your purchase, when really you shouldn't have ..

It hasn't failed to pull in casual gamers .. because thousands of casual gamers have been sucked in .. just because your friends haven't, doesn't mean others haven't .. you and your friends aren't the only people on this planet ..

I don't personally like the game .. but the game has brought back, the old love of video games .. whether you like it or not ..

Oh and Signore .. what do you like?  Anything?

I didnt give into other people's opinions, you missed my point. The fact that I havent played LBP before today for a couple weeks was what made me regret my purchase. This game was supposed to succeed through word of mouth (what Sony claims), but so far most people ive showed have been pretty bemused, and wondered why I spent $60. Games I like, that have played recently: FIFA 09... just pure awesomeness. The best footy game ever, and ive played them all. Uncharted ... finally got around to completing it. Even if it was short, I dont feel at all like i was jipped. Just an awesome game, with a great story, visuals, and fun gameplay. One of the few single player only games I could see myself comin back to COD4... the best online fun around for me COD:WaW... not as good as COD4, but still the best shooter this holiday season (was totally let down by R2 averageness) Far Cry 2... a little slow and repetive, but a great rental I think ill purchase at $30 or in a trade NHL 09 ... incredible game, but im more of a footy fan so i dont play it as much LBP ... great fun, while it lasted. Its just at the bottom of my list, behind all the above. .. and i just got Fallout 3 for $30 but havent tried it I know i come off as a negative guy towards games, but I just find it boring raving about a game, and when i do its in the respective games forum and not overall ps3 one

Fallout 3 starts off real slow .. oh so slow .. I expected more out of it ..

Well Sony claims a lot of things .. it's all word of mouth, and the hype was huge behind this game .. I knew from the beginning that I wouldn't enjoy it ..

You've lost what was once a love for a game (LBP) .. but that isn't abnormal ..

Theres plenty of games that I loved at first, and then hated just days later .. but I still don't feel the need for a post on this forum, just looks like a bash man.

You can be negative .. but I usually love reading your negativity .. ;)

i completly disagree with your statements, of course not everyone will like this game but i showed it to 3 friends from work, who all by the way bashed it for weeks on how kiddy and stupid it looked and these are guys who only play sports games by the way and they loved it and have all purchased a copy. i also showed my girlfriend who has never been interested in any game ever except mario when she was young and she cant get enough so non games do like this game you cant base it on just a few people.

Pretty sure he's already told you what he liked. He stated that LBP is becoming less fun over time. He also questioned the score it recieved - no different to half the posts on this forum. You've all stated your reasons why you like it, he hasnt flamed you for your opinions yet you seem to be looking for reasons to flame him for his.

Yeah, I remember back when I was six and got a NES for Xmas. Then I put in Super Mario Bros. and was like "What's the point of this game?", turned it off and never touched a video game again.

I personally loved the game at first and could not put it down, but now I just pop it in every now and then and have some fun with a level or 2 then do something else. That to me seems worth my purchase even if i do not play it for extended periods of time it is always fun to come back to.

Given it has only been a month, and this may not hold true a few months from now, but I believe it could.

you should get banned, or suspended or something. All you do is post boost, with dumb responses, or your attempt at humour. You contribute basically nothing to any thread you post in.. dont you have anything better than to post in EVERY single thread with some poor attempt at a witty response?

you should blog it...

Yeah my friend was like : "what the ....?" when I bought the game.

My girlfriend thought it looked cool and cute. I thought the same, but I still wasn't 100% sure of my purchase like with Fallout 3.

So I guess I'll just open it and give it a try.

What really makes LBP fun for me is playing it with friends. Yea, its a platformer so your goal is to just get through the level alive, but that becomes far more fun when you can beat your buddy to a swinging object and change direction on him right when he jumps so he falls to his death, or you beat him to a ledge and when he finally makes the jump, you smack him back down to make him try again, or my all time favorite. Grap your laptop and pick a good dance song and just chill in your pod and have a sackboy dance party. Another fun game we came up with is everyone hits the "Retry" button at the same time and the last one to let go without triggering it wins. LBP is one of those games that everyone sees and says I don't see the point, but when they play it with us, it's a blast.

Whats up with the Bad Levels. I have played 5 at a friends house that i downloaded from the community and they where all wonderful. LBP is truly an amazing game. And no one wants to here you nag. Also ive actually enjoyed creating my own levels. And i think, when i finally get the game, that ill play through the story like 10 times. And if youre wondering how i have played it, i played it at my friends for like 5 hours. Probably the best gaming experience ever. And im a total Hard Core Gamer. And you wannna know why my firend got the game, cause i told him what it was like and he bought it. I would like to see how you reply to this post8)

Meh, me and my friends love it. I mean, I haven't played it that much recently (bought R2 and SOCOM. Having 3 games to play is too much, never thought I'd say that), but I still play it. Never fails to make us laugh, especially when you knock someone off a building with a frying pan :P

I bought LBP last week with a friend. He is a Xbox360 player and he was a little jealous. His words: "We (Xbox360 gamers) don't have that".

I told him you could create your own levels. He was just a little bummed that you could not create levels at the beginning. We had to play through the single-player levels first. Before we got to the create a level, he got to go home.

While playing the single-player I gave him the 2nd controller, that alone was awesome for hime, because he loves coop. I didn't even show him how you can create a level with 2 players.

My friend also see how fun LBP looks and what makes LBP special.

It really depence on the person wether he/she likes LBP or not. But I think most people are to impatience, and won't like creating and sharing levels.

The point is to reach the end of the level. As with most 2d platforming games.

whenever i play this game with non gamers, or people who havent tried it is... usually confusion.

I cant believe IGn gave it a 9.5

longhorn7

It seems you never like any games

i have noticed this as well :P i just like to consider him our resident oscar the grouch of the ps3 forums. he is a good contributor but always so negative lol

I do enjoy a lot of games, i mentioned them earlier in thread (because people seem to think i hate gaming). Resident Oscar the Grouch? I like that haha

Anything?

420Token420

You can be negative .. but I usually love reading your negativity .. ;)

Whats funny is that in 'real life' my girlfriend always breaks my balls for being too negative. Im actually a pretty easy going and happy guy, just very observant for better or worse. Add me on PSN, BigPoppaP ... youll see actually play/enjoy games. Im puttin time aside for FO3. Im waiting until i finish my exam, its just been laying there for a 5 days. I wasnt planning on getting it, because i hate playin games with one setting, but at the price i saw it i couldnt pass

I tried to play LBP with my 11 year old (girl) cousin today, she wasnt really digging it. She wanted to play FIFA instead wtf haha

Thought I'd drop by to say that I just picked up LittleBigPlanet and I love it so much.

Sackboy is adorable, and I don't know what kind of friends you have Signore, but me and mine are gonna have a ball with this.

;)

Nasty_butler_9

You might get bored with it dude, i got it and was thrilled for about a week untill I realized im the same as OP is now

Yeah, I might, but just because you and Signore don't like it doesn't mean I won't.

I'm still working on story mode and I can't wait to finish so I can make a level. I mean, I could do one now, but it just wouldn't feel right having the game being left unplayed.

[QUOTE="Litmin"]The point is to make and customize you, and your maps. And play other peoples maps.It has unlimited creativity and imagination, i play it when im tired of shooting peoples heads off in my shooter games. And it has unlimited replayability, you can make new levels or play other peoples levels.signore

yeah, thats the tagline i hear "unlimited replayability"

but after you sift through the hundred of "FREE TROPHIES" or some song level (who wants to "play" a level with someone recreating a song?).. youre left with very empty levels, usually something that has a rocket or ramp. Unless im the unlucky one who is always randomly left with these levels, im not seeing anything near "unlimited replayability".

Obviously you haven't looked past the front page of the "Cool levels" section. There are HUNDREDS of levels out there, some may be crap, but a lot are fascinating. Try the ICO level, or the Sackboy Begins, or The Azure Palace.

The free trophies, song levels, and ramp levels I agree are a waste of space, but there are a lot of awesome levels to find if you use the search function instead of just looking at the front page.

Why do you want to judge you're choice by what other people say. Weak.

i don't care about LBP, but that's just me. I can comment whether this game is overrated or not (and i think it is, lol), but in the end my opinion is irrelevant, and should be irrelevant to those who enjoy it, and there's a significant portion of people who do. That's it, end of story. i really don't see any reason to dwell on this issue. some like it, some don't, for whatever reason that may be (replayability, price tag, point ). you hate it? sell it off and curse the day you bought it, maybe you'll learn to rent before buying if you'e iffy about the game; you liked it? good for you, enjoy yourself. But as soon as comments like "i don't see why people like/hate this" or "why did this site give it this score" emerge, as fun as it is to part of that discussion, it becomes an endless argument, with no resolution in sight. It's pointless and accomplishes nothing, but hey at least people can express themselves, so i don't really mind. In this case i don't really care becasue i haven't formulated enough of an opinion about LBP, so as far as i'm concerned it's garbage, :P

This game deserves a rent at least. Give the game a chance and see what all the fuss is about ;)

I like the fact that is a 2D platformer with next gen graphics (even though heads seem to go through everything in everystage) and making your own levels is a great thing. When i play this game with friends i have tons of fun, i love game physics, like when u r flying on an airplane or going at high speeds in a skateboard, how the vehicle reacts to the weight of sack boys and all. Game mechanics are simple, that's also a good thing for me because thanks to that i can play it with anyone.

The reaction from some people I know is that it is too kiddy. They don't get it. All they play is mindless shooters but have no respect for anything else. I'm not here to tell them that that isn't fun, but it kind of irks me. My friend's brother, who is 26, rented it and couldn't figure out how to beat the first level and returned it the next day. I don't know, I thought I'd share that. :P

My favorite is when people bump a 6-9 month old thread with a response in it as if the topic is still going on.

Yes, believe it or not, it can that simple. Because I'm having a lot of fun with it.

By the way, just as an example, what's the point of CoD WaW? what about Fallout 3? If you are happy with saving a town made up of pixels, or if you are happy with killing pixels that are shaped like soldiers, you are still having fun. Your problem is that you don't like the game, which has nothing to do with LBP getting a 9.5 or it being a good or bad game. (I find CoD4 really boring, I hate the Orange Box and Resistance 2, but these games are still categorized as good and great).
