Wow this is terrific news, Sly is my 2nd favourite platformer series after J&D. The series got over-shadowed last gen so I could see why Sucker Punch were hesitant at first to confirm the game, but after The Sly Collection Im sure a lot of people will enjoy the series because they really are fun games. And collection will definitely work in favour of Sly 4 by creating a lot of hype.
It's funny this comes up because I was thinking the other day that when I platinum all 3 games, a teaser for Sly 4 should unlock. I thought that would never happen though. :P This is FANTASTIC news. I really can't wait. I hope Sucker Punch is on this though. Although that does mean we will have to wait until holiday 2012 for it to release.

I'm sure Sucker Punch will handle development. Sly's always been something they're close to, if the many interviews in regards to anything Sly related are any indication, so I doubt they'd be willing to hand it off to someone else.

I bet we have nothing to worry about and Sucker Punch will handle it. It was teased in Infamous 1 after all. Also they've gone off record to a couple industry sites on saying that they are working on it. I heard it from Garnett Lee of Shacknews. I just find it a bit funny that it is being teased before Infamous 2 is even remotely out. :P I just hope it focuses more on stealth. Sly 3 was super disappointing because it had WAY too many characters to play as.

Hey, gotta start building up hype early, right? Better to get the fans excited now than keep them in suspense for another several months or so.

I didn't mind the myriad of playable characters, actually. But, yeah, a more focused effort would be nice for a change. Variety is nice and all, but the series could do with taking a bit of a step back in that regard.

You're right. I'm now more interested and hyped on this franchise. :) All the characters in 3 were never NEARLY as fun to play as as Sly. They could do so much more with the stealth too with him and give him more moves. Maybe make a mode where the stealth is harder too. Staying out of a "flashlight zone" is a bit silly.
I'm calling it now: This is the best news ever. Hope we get more details in the near future.

I'm guessing that Sony and Sucker Punch will announce Sly 4 at E3 next year after they release inFamous 2.
That seems the most likely course of events. Makes sense, too, because E3's always the place to make big reveals like that. If we're lucky, though, we might hear something on it at the Game Developers Conference in March, but chances of that are small at best. Still, one can hope.
