I don't live in the UAE but i know that its overpriced, i think its because they're relatively "new to the game".

Where I live XBOX 360 and PS3 games are 99 dolars and Wii games are 85. PS2 are 70 and DS/PSP are 65. The consoles are between 600-700 for the PS3 40g/80g 650 for the 360 Go Pro and 560 for the Wii. So, I guess we are overpriced.kenshinhimura10
still it just a psn game for 15 or 20 bucks not an actual game btw ps2 games here are also 70

That's not too bad, it's about the same price in Sweden.
Well its just as bad in Oceania and Europe, the yanks, canucks and japs have it so good.
The console is +$700 for the 40GB model....
I never used to mind but these days they charge $100 - $120 for a new game thats just a huge rip off. I don't think they realise if they sold games from between $30 - $60 they would sell so many more games.
I'm American I don't mean to be insulting but I just curious about the middle east and video games. I didn't think you could get video games anywhere in the middle east. Is UAE a strict Islamic country and how do people feel about video game there? Maybe thats why they cost so much is because there is a tax on them religous reasons? I've seen stuff on TV here about the Islands thier building in the UAE and I know it's a popular tourist country. I find the middle east fastenating and I like learning about the reagon.jdc6305
People don't feel much about videogames aside from the fact that it is a childish hobby. This is bad in a sense because you are pretty much laughed at when you are my age (23) and mention gaming as a serious hobby. Hell my parents still advise me to give it up every time I buy a new game saying it is a waste of my money. On the plus side there is zero regulation so you never have controversy regarding a game's content.
No religious tax or anything, I would go as far as to say no such thing exists. You guys have a bad impression of gamers from the region, for reasons I can understand...The different countries there are wildly different in traditions to an extent, income, accents and others. The only things in common are probably religion and language.
Speaking of UAE, I am currently living in the UK and going for a job in UAE. If it is that expensive then eBay and a few other e-tailers will remain my best friends there, I am not crazy enough to pay a $100 for a game.

Im from Iran and we can get the games before they're even being realesed you can get new original game for 65 $ ( for ps3 ) . many of the people play video games but they are always young and we have no age limits kids can get GTA IV and play gears of war whole of the games in Iran are copy except PS3 and most of the gamers have X360 which has cheap games around 4$ .:D
Well i think in UAE every thing is OVERPRICED !mohammadan
The same goes for Norway. A game cost between $70 to $85 (converted from Norwegian Krones to US dollars).

Lmao but they usually got cheap games at platekompaniet, elkjop has deals some times. I m starting to use amazon.co.uk and play.com they have really cheap games thereAlso here in the Philippines. A game would cost equal to 80 US dollars. Luckily, my dad goes to the US 2 or three times a year. 2 to 3 games everytime he goes there is enough, plus a PSN card for buying stuff in PS store.:D
Oh and an 80GB model would cost 500 US dollars here. $100 dollar difference! And yes, my PS3 was bought in the US too(almost every videogame and consoles i think) :P
Do people actually not understand ANYTHING? why are you converting it to US dollars when your currency is worth less per dollar and that the amount that people earn is different. There are so many other variables that converting it is pointless. shabab12Actually UAE dirhams and US dollars are linked together.. 1 US dollar = 3.67 dirhams for about 10 years and it wont change for a while TC, depends where you are looking. My bro found a great offer on games in either Ajman's city center, or Sharjah City center. he actually got fifa 09 for about $30 which is cheaper than here.
