Downloads are the way to go. Many people say download's take up to much space. They assume it's 1.8 GB but most games are in the 600-800 range and games that have a lot of things such as yu gi oh tag force 3 take up more than a GB. Downloaded games make games more portable. I'm a proud PSP owner who downloads games.

No Credit Card, No PSN Cards = No Downloads. Honestly I wouldn't mind downloads if I had a bigger memory stick and all the games came with their software manual.

Eh, I have my own credit card so either way that has never really been a problem. I still like have a physical copy of the game, but I'm pretty sure I'll be upgrading to the Go.

I still prefer hard copies, but I don't mind downloads. I can see the benefit of not having to travel with discs.

I agree, not only because you can trade in the UMD games after you finish them, but not everyone has a large enough memory stick to download all the games they want.

I wouldn't bury UMDs or physical copies yet. I prefer having my games on my shelves, feeling they are part of my personal collection. I won't download digital stuff for as long as I have an alternative. I already forsee that physical copies of games like GTA: Chinatown Wars and Tekken 6 will be collector's items among PSP owners in the future. I'm not saying UMDs are perfect, but I prefer them to files. You can't sell your digital collection, the servers will not always be active. Music downloads have been around for a long time yet people still buy CDs and records. You can also rule out limited and collector's editions in digital distribution. I think digital copies will mostly attract casual gamers, while hardcore collectors will delay the inevitable (is it?) as long as possible.

Many people say it takes too much space? It's more like, many people don't want to be locked into Sony controlled pricing.

Which will be for a good long time... the PSP is just now breaking into certain world markets (believe it or not) and they will continue the sales of UMD to these countries as well as yours. This is like "The Sky Is Falling" conjecture.

Where in my initial post did I say that they wouldn't be? People are too quick to jump to conclusions sometimes.

Pretty much this. Besides, you can't get cover art with a download.

And yet I still prefer a physical copy. If I don't like a game I've bought on UMD, I can return it or trade it in. With DL games, I can't.

There is more pros to physical (UMD) then there is to digital.

If a game isn't on UMD I forget about it. There a few digital games I would like to play... But I'm not supporting it.

Well, I have downloaded stuff before, but I completley disagree, I personally think UMDs are awesome. Plus, I love having the orignal box, with the instruction manual. Also, if you have a UMD, you can lend it to a friend, or borrow one of theirs, you can't do that with DDs.

Anyway, the kind of games I have downloaded off of PSN are PS1 classics and PSN exclusives. There may be a rare game that I absolutely cant find on UMD sometime that I will download, but for me, I'm sticking with UMDs whenever possible. :)

UMD sucked, but having the physical copy to trade sell or borrow was great, plus i like collecting games so downloading games isn't my thing
