I just rented this game today, because I didn't want to buy it with no online play. I have to say that this is the best 3rd fighter I have ever played. But the inability to play people online makes it tough to buy. The quest mode helps though! NO the Xbox 360 version will not have online versus, it may have online leaderboards though according to last month's EGM mag.pjoasil

That's exactly why I didn't pick it up. I'll give it a rent but I'm not going to pick up this game as I have no one to really play against. Hard to believe that the hardware isn't able to support this game online but whatever.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has the XBL logo on its box too, but that isn't online.

I'm pretty certain that every 360 game as to be "aware", in that, someone can see what game that you are playing.

Seeing as how the VF team has stressed many times that the internet isn't up to par with what they would expect in order to provide a flawless online scheme, as that we all share the same internet, online play won't appear in that version either.

Oblivion has lots of DLC...thats what there refering to

MS didn't order a thing. There are plenty of 360 games out there that don't have any kind of online support beyond Live-Aware, which all 360 games inherently have through the dashboard. I even have a couple of them.

hmm i am prety new in the game got it just today XD firest time i ever played viruta fighter for more then 10 sek(i allwise seen the gb virsuon) any way i got a qustion about the combos are thay even posible?_?

you like pp and then down down+side side and p i dident even sure if i was doing the combo training right and dident let me pass the 3rd stage oO if any one got any tips( on how to do the combos) pls let me now ty.

Just wondering DC if you making a thread about VF5 means that you're officially staying at GS? Or are you gonna leave again when this whole VF5 things is done? Because before this I haven't seen you around that much..... Anyway since I'm not getting a Ps3 until the fall I have no way of getting into the greatness that is VF5. I do have a psp as well as my old school consoles so I was just wondering what you think about VF2 for the genesis? Is it still good? Or at least as good as SFA3? I have that game on my psp and I'm currently very content with it.

I haven't played Virtua Fighter since the Sega Saturn era so I'm relearning the game with Akira. It's okay game, nothing more nothing less, maybe since I'm possibly not a HUGE fighter genre person.

I never actually left, just spent a lot of time lurking. It's like my old sig said, "the wise man speaks when he has something to say." I spent a lot of time lurking. No one was talking about fighting games or Grandia or whatever. VF2 Genesis never was good, even for its time. Lion and Shun were missing entirely, movelists were completely ripped to shreds, and the controls just felt...wrong. If you want something else for your PSP, go with Tekken.

tnx for help XD. i got one more qustion is ther any way to switch between the arrows to the stick to play beter i got only a ps controler not the spehsiel stick thay show ther.

I've found the Quest mode to be quite addictive.

As I am not a skilled player it was quite exciting to be invited to my first quest game tournament.
** I lost mind you, but it was quite a bit of fun.

I'm presently attempting to get enough cash to buy some outfits to update my characters.

It's funny in a way... The more pimped out the computer opponent is dressed... is directly proportional to how dangerous they are.

quest mode is dumb IMO. I just wanna fight somebody. this game would kill if it was online. i see the reasons why though. maybe next time. quest mode doesn't let you quit when you what and thats what i don't like. and if hteres a tournament that pops up your w/l resets whats that about?

To exit Quest mode you hit the start button and return to menu.

The reason the Win Loss is changed is because the simulation is that you are moving to a different arcade location with different people.

Actually, this Quest mode is a simulation of the Arcades in Japan. The pictures are of actual arcades in Japan and they keep track of Win/Loss ratio in the arcade in the same way.

It's an arcade simulation. Just would've been nice if they'd used real player AI data again. Your W/L doesn't reset for tournaments, your winning streak ends because you left the machine you were on. Just like a real arcade.

What does the dragon do when you get all 7 ball things? I got it, and saw no difference, or magical wishes.

And did anyone else notice that the best song is olny played during the tournament player match-ups?

I thought the dragon was Shenron when it popped out and was wrapped around the center ball. But when you collect all 7 orb things a dragon pops out. And it's all crazy and acts like you just did something amazing. But when I checked if there was anything different. It was all the same.
