-Sell one without a hard drive and save themselves some money. Then we could determine the space.

-Backround downloading. How hard is that?

-Controllers with replacable batteries and dual shock 3

-Make backwards compatibility possible on all versions of the PS3 as I dont want a PS2 sitting next to a PS3

-Be creative and figure out a way to lower idle power consumption which is almost as high as power consumption during games

Any others you PS3 owners can think of?

1, PS3 games are made with the harddrive in mind, so basically its mandatory

&

2, PS3 does have background downloading

-Sell one without a hard drive and save themselves some money. Then we could determine the space. It needs a hardrive in every console. (standard)

-Backround downloading. How hard is that? Not hard at all , it already has that.

-Controllers with replacable batteries and dual shock 3 The controllers should last a very long time so that isn't really going to be an issue.

-Make backwards compatibility possible on all versions of the PS3 as I dont want a PS2 sitting next to a PS3 Too late for that. Hopefully they can still keep it in for the premium ps3s for people like yourself but they don't need it in every console.

-Be creative and figure out a way to lower idle power consumption which is almost as high as power consumption during games

I can't think of too many , but I felt like commenting on your ideas.

the only thing that id like at this stage is an ingame XMB,

and like nike_air said it already has background downloading, hdd is stardard so that the developers know that people have AT LEAST some hdd so they can install files to it to improve loading etc, and having replacable batteries means they wont last as long i mean 360 using rechargable AAs is dumb.

and a ps3 is for ps3 games, personally when ive finished a ps2 game i didnt play it again with the exceptiong of thegtas

I have no problems with the PS3 itself. I guess custom soundtracks would be cool but no biggie. Games are the biggest issue and that situation is improving which each passing month.

Offer the old controllers, wireless of course. And this is probally stupid but when I finish a game of Football, I have to back all the way out for my son to log on and play. That should be something you can do with ease with the PS button. Other than that no complaints.

1) PS3 games are designed with the HDD in mind. If you're saying everybody should just pick out their own size, that adds a lot more work for the consumer and they want the consumer to feel like the PS3 is user friendly and not have to do everything themselves.

2) The PS3 has background downloading... haven't you downloaded anything from the Playstation Store lately?

3) Eh, replacable batteries aren't really a big deal. Also, Dual Shock 3 is coming. Where have you been?

4) That would be nice.

5) Hm... power consumption isn't really a problem for me.

Everybody in this thread misread his first statement. He said make ONE ps3 as in one sku/model available without a hard drive so that people have an option to chose whatever harddrive they want. Like a 250gb seagate barracuda for like 70 bucks.

I really don't understand why people make these threads. Honestly, if your comments are either trivial, obvious, or just plain wrong. Let me demonstrate.

Things Sony could do to improve PS3:

-Make it free

-Have a billion games

-Emits gamma rays that turn you into super hero of choice.

Now I know those sounds rediculous, but really, have either of us accomplished anything by posting our respective lists?
