As for games, in my opnion these are execellent games: Resistance, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Ninga Gaiden Sigma, Oblivion (the game of the year is about to come out), Rainbow Six Vegas, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfight 2, Motorstorm.

A HDMI cable if you have an HDTV.

But most of all get ready for sleepless nights as Warhawk is slowly killing me due to the lack of sleep.

Accessories? The Blu-Ray remote is a must, as is a 2nd controller.

being a new owner of a PS3, I kinda went through the same thing.

I'm a huge fan of movies, so blu-rays were my first purchase. There are some great deals if you look for them.

You should so consider atleast 1 extra controller. Don't waste your money on a blu-ray remote, the controller works perfect for it.

As for game, I definately recomment warhawk, but only if you have a good internet connection. Also, buy it from the PSN, not instore, save the $20+tax, the chat works for crap anyways. Plus I bought a bluetooth headset for $15 a while back and it works.

Otherwise, I say, try some games on the PSN, see if any of them seem fun to you. I ended up buying Warhawk, NHL 08, Tiger Woods 08, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma.

I definately recomment the purchase, but only if you have a decent amount of money since its not the most economically friendly system :-/

I'd recommend

Resistance Fall of man - great shooter both offline and online

Motorstorm - If your into racing. Dirt is also an awsome racing game.

Oblivion - If your into RPG's. This is a long game, so lots of value for your dollar.

Warhawk - fun online game, also gives you a headset.

I'd also say get a second controller, if you have friends who like to play video games. It also allows you to play coop on resistance. I haven't tried Heavenly Sword, but I've heard good things about it.
