Does anyone else feel like the joysticks on the controllers don't have enough friction, they move too easy it feels like to me. Is dualshock 3 any different?

I feel the joysticks are very easy to break, as one of my Sixaxis sticks from prolonged sprinting in COD4 and now i def cant use it in certain games.Does anyone else feel like the joysticks on the controllers don't have enough friction, they move too easy it feels like to me. Mine constantly have the urge to move by themselves (in game) because of this. I don't think this "Up/Down+L/R3" stuff was thought through

Reason was cause you're not supposed to hold the L3 button in while you are moving up. You were just supposed to click it while holding up. I broke a sixaxis this way. I still had a receipt for it though and sony fixed it. Actually they sent me back a dualshock 3. ^_^

my standard ps3 controller died after around 6 months and now moves up on its own (from cod 4 sprinting im sure). i have a dualshock thats 3 months old and seems fine sofar but am sure more L3 pressing would kill it in no time :(

Dude, I know! I hate having to use the L3/R3 buttons at all. It feels like you're going to break them! Both major consoles utilize this function and that click feels so cheap like something is gonna snap in there. And the "Up/Down+L/R3" BS really makes me cringe. I just avoid running if at all possible. lolI feel the joysticks are very easy to break, as one of my Sixaxis sticks from prolonged sprinting in COD4 and now i def cant use it in certain games.[QUOTE="jerkface96"][QUOTE="Cpt_Amazing"]

LOL Me included but i think 1/3 of PSNs population had a broken sixaxis from COD4[QUOTE="fazedjb"][QUOTE="jerkface96"] I feel the joysticks are very easy to break, as one of my Sixaxis sticks from prolonged sprinting in COD4 and now i def cant use it in certain games. jerkface96

Dualshock feels sturdy, and I'm not talking about just the weight.

its the pressing down on the left stick while its pressed up at around 45 degrees. its not designed for prolonged use. ie holding down under extreme pressure (as you usualy press harder when running under fire) im sure it would kill dualshock too

You'd think so, but I've been using my DS3 for CoD4 longer than my last two SIXAXIS and it hasn't even gotten the sticky left stick yet.

I hope mine lasts. the DS3 is so much better than the standard controller! and i can never resist a game of cod ever now and then..
what games are you guys playing, if a game needs that much wear on a controller than its a pretty useless game.
the ps controller is for immersion, i loosely hold the controller, thumbs diagonal for easy button access, and my pointing finger in the middle of the shoulder buttons. its not the controller, its whatever game that pushes you so hard to break your controller. l and r 3 do suck though. and at the 2 buttons were a little more accessible.
ps controller isnt really made for fps like the 360. thats why 3rd party hardware developers make ps controllers like the 360 controller.
I hate my Saixis controller, I don't know why but if I let it go it was says the right analog is moving forward. I got to bang it so it's stops moving. It really pisses me of when I'm sniping and the view just starts going up. Since I got to bang it so it stops it eventually broke the frame. I glued it back together bbut have to put up with it moving or risk breaking it again. I really got to by a Duelshock 3 controller.
