The Playstation 1 and The Playstation 2 Generations Rocked! The Playstation 3 Generation got off to a slow start... But now Rocks! PS3 didn't crush the other two as it's preceeding consoles did.

It is just That I am getting older. So videogames are not as on my mind as they were before.

Playstation 4 will rekindle the "newness" of gaming for me. When it is announced.

PS3 is my favorite PS so far. I'm not blinded by nostalgia (and my hate for JRPGs probably also has something to do with that).

.....your joking me, right? do you even own a PS3:P

put it this way, PS1 came out when you were younger (im assuming) which means anything will appeal to you. so of course if your 8-12 years old your going to love spyro, crash and others. what im trying to say is that now that your older, less and less things appeal to you now. now that your older, you simply LOVE killing stuff in video games. also the fact that everyone has ALOT higher standards in gaming today. im talking about the whiners "ohh this games doesnt have this and that, no trophies, this game sucks" and so on. nowadays if a game dosent have good graphics, they while and complain about it....oh how i miss the old days, but not gaming wise:P

ps1=ps2>ps3 But I still love my ps3, and its games. But you must also remember it's barely 4 years old, and the ps1/ps2 lived more than twice that length (ps2 though, hasn't had a top-notch game since GOW 2 in 2007 but still does well) The ps3 needs more exclusive/good: Fighting (the ps2 was unparalleled,) Racing, and 3d platforming games, Plus a new Medievil and Blaster Master title.

Whoever said that PS3 will be remembered because of Call of Duty is wrong. Its more of a 360 title while it got ported for PS3. Anyway, I like the PS3 and is definitly my favorite current gen console. But I believe that the PS2 is the best system ever. Huge and diverse library and lots of its games had such a high fun factor. With PS3, you can have incredible acheivements but the feeling is not the same. But I do think the PS3s greatest days still has yet to come, so dont give up on it yet because its not at the end of its life and loads of games still have yet to come out.

I cant say as i agree with you TS. the ps3 has a fine library of games. I dont see these big delays your talking about other than GT5. I do agree with there being to many FPS vs other types of games but hay it was the same with the 16 bit days when it seemed every other game was a platformer. with 32bit gen it was a lot of 3rd person type games like sly cooper ect. The ps3 started off slow IMHO but the last 2 or 3 years have been great game wise. MGS4,LBP,Valakria chronicals, Uncharted 1/2, batman AA,red dead redemption, dead space,Bioshock 1/2,Dragon age,RE5,GoW3,assasians creed 2/3,fallout 3/NV,infamous ect. The PSN has gotten pretty dang good, bluray rocks ect. I do miss the lower price of the PS1 games though ;)

I respect your opinion but I don't agree with it at all. Times are different now I guess.

I don't think it's that bad. Nostalgia tends to hold a great sway on our view of the previous consoles. In many years, I'm sure some people will talk about the good old days of the PS3 era.

2 good Ratchet and Clank Games, Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted 1 and 2, Killzone 2, Heavy Rain, Mlb 09 and 10 The Show, Infamous, Demons Souls, Little Big Planet, Gran Turisom 5, Mod Nation Racers, Blu Ray Player, free online, Mag, Socom Confrontation(fixed after patches). Plus all the non exclusives that are out for every system that are great. Cannot wait for Metal Gear Solid Rising, Infamous 2, Mass Effect 2, Uncharted 3, Socom 4, Killzone 3, Twisted Metal, Mlb 11, Little Big Planet 2, Resistance 3 and other exclusives that aren't announced...The System is still young too, not to mention the move games will get better and within 2 FPS releases I'm sure The move control will be perfect.

I don't really have a problem with Sony's game library since Fighting and JRPG games are my strongest forte. Well I would want to see more Anime RPG's localized to the states. But I'm pretty happy about the PS3's game library since 2D fighters are making an epic comeback. I still itching for Marvel vs Capcom 3 to be released already.:D

When it comes to the game mechanics I would say yes but as far as character rosters and extra content go I would say no. I would remember how fighting games in previous gens would have extra game modes or secret characters to unlock if you would clear certain conditions in arcade mode. Nowadays since the gaming community mainly focuses on online play, fighting games don't seem to put the extra fighting modes in the games as they would used too.

"...only remembered for call of duty"??? have you ever played LBP? Dead Space? Bioshock? Killzone? Flower? I mean yes, CoD redefined its own series, but not this gen completely. This gen is by far one the best. I can actually store music, movies, games on my system versus having to buy memory cards and keeping up with discs. This gen couldn't get any better (actually needs to a lil, but you get the point). & btw, Blu-ray isn't a gimmick. It's just like you said with ps2 having dvd, it's just amazing. Plus, ps3 hasn't had that many delays, just Gran Turismo 5 comes to mind, and thats it really. Remember, your ps3 has more functions other than playing CoD.

I agree in the sense that the PS1 and PS2 completely owned their generations, no one was close. So in comparison, the PS3 has had a rough go.

For me, that's relative though. I love my PS3, I've had a blast with it. It does everything I require it to do. I'll be buying a second one soon.

Ironically (Regarding the online statement) servers for fighting games are barren. I used to absolutely LOVE fighting games, but this gen they really dropped the ball for some of them. Plus, most fighting games have characters being omitted from their predecessor (like Necrid in Soul Calibur 2...)

personally Street Fighter 4 was just a solid game compared to the glory days. Manily that has to do with me knowing now that fighting games are really flawed.
