No, not at all. I feel it does everything perfect as can be. I'm having a blast in MP and I am SO stoked for Uncharted 3 SP!
I've been playing video games since the early 90s, started as a PC gamer with text based games, FPS and RTS. Started playing consoles like the Atari 2600, NES, Super NES, Super NES with floppy drive, Neo Geo CD, Sega Saturn, N64, PSX, Xbox, PS2, Gamecube, etc, etc.....
What I'm trying to say is.... I've been playing video games for many years, I don't have a huge warehouse to store my games, I just play them, enjoy them and move on to some other new games.
All these years, I've probably played and finished thousands of games on PC and many different consoles, Uncharated 2 is ranked very very high on my personal all time best game list. The graphic, the control, the combat, the voice acting, the pacing, the story, the level design, etc... Everything in that game is damn near perfect.
If you don't like Uncharted you should stop gaming because it's probably not your hobby.

Not every game is going to be loved by every person. Doesn't make someone less of a gamer because of it, no matter how many thousands of games you've finished. I happen to think MGS4 and OoT are the 2 greatest games ever made. There are TONS of people that think both are incredibly overrated. Doesn't mean their opinion is any less than mine. Just different. Get over it. As for the topic, I do think its overrated to an extent. A series, to me at least, needs to not only show quality in each title, but also longevity to be considered one of the best of all time. There's only 2 games so far so there's not really much to go off of. I just recently replayed Uncharted 2 and remember why I loved it so much, but while I think Uncharted 2 deserves every bit of praise it has gotten, I couldn't get into the first game until the end so to me that game wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Not a bad game by any means, but not quite as good as people made it out to be. I do plan on replaying the first game very soon so that may change now that I'm a bit now that I'm more familiar with the series. I think the quality of the series is really resting on Uncharted 3. If Uncharted 3 can live up to the quality of Uncharted 2 (which so far it looks like it will) then the series as a whole will absolutely be one of the best of this gen, if not one of the best of all time.

This is what I expected when I got Uncharted 1 and 2, yet when I played both games all I got out of it was "meh, it was good while ite lasted" and ultimately forgot about it a few days later.
Honestly, the game felt like a Michael Bay film to me, its got all the big explosions, pretty ladies and shiny effects yet it leaves very little impact. But eh, if you love the franchise then good for you, hope the third one ends up being every bit as good as you hoped for.
Yes, in some ways. For example, I found the story to be overrated but the cinematic feel and scripted moments are great. The game is also a little to over the top sometimes.

A Michael Bay movie? Really? It's got a lot more heart and wit than a Michael Bay movie. The dialogue is fantastic. If anything it's closer to an Indiana Jones movie. It's some good ol' straight up action adventure treasure hunting.ABSOLUTELY NOT! The Uncharted series is one of the best series ever, IMO. I love it. Great and fun story, great humour, excellent voice acting, very likeable characters that you actually care about, amazing settings, amazing graphics and fun multiplayer, which has been massively improved in the 3rd. Can't wait for Drake's Deception.
Love it so much that I named my dog Drake. My name's Nathan. Nathan Drake, lol :P
I didn't like the 1st one, but thought the 2nd was pretty awesome (granted, it was my 1st ps3 game so that may have helped sway my opinion). I put quite a lot of hours into the mp as well. Though, the 3rd one looks like the sp will be the only thing worth getting it for, which I'm cool with.
As a whole, I'd say the series got a bit blown out of proportion, but it's by no means a bad franchise. I think the vast improvements the 2nd made over the 1st is what really got all the attention, so hopefully the 3rd can continue to add some new stuff to the series. Hopefully they'll stop after the 3rd or wait a few years and do something inbetween. Ubisoft should also do that with their AC games coming out once a year, it's not that they're bad it's just too much of it (which I'm hoping doesn't happen to UC).

I played Uncharted 2 first, it's an outstanding game which I love and I could play it over and over. After this I had to play Uncharted 1, which although I enjoyed, it's not a patch on 2. It does sound like 3 will be as good as 2. So do I think the Uncharted series is over rated? Uncharted: Drake's Fortune dissapointed me a little but still a great game which many people think is the best game this gen. Uncharted 2; just an absolutely amazing game in every way imo. I think this will take some beating. Ever. Uncharted 3; we'll have to wait and see. Uncharted series over rated? No.
Well I dont really follow the hype it generates, so the views I form are based on what I've seen myself. So in my opinion its a great series. I wouldnt call it overrated as it certainly lives up to what I expect.-Fromage-Same as this guy. Depends on who you are and for me its everything i expected to be and i think its awesome. Played both 4 times a piece.
As a person who primary prefers RPG's and Adventure games, Uncharted series for me are pretty amazing. I own both games for single player specifically and while its not creating anything ground-breaking new, in terms what it offers however, Uncharted 2 specifically, it's one of the most polished video games I ever played. The controls, action, visuals, voice acting, pacing - everything in the game is very, very polished and solid.
I enjoyed original game for story element more but the second game is superbly well done.
I'm looking forward to seeing what Uncharted 3 will bring. All the previews so far indicate it should be a worthy successor in the series.
No. The Uncharted series is not over-rated. It is a top tier adventure/action series. It is highly cinematic, engaging story and characters...its better than many movies i have seen lately. The game-play and control is perfect for me. Plenty of action and thrills and some light puzzle elements all perfectly paced to keep me interested and entertained without being too stressfull.
For me, the Uncharted games are a single player experience only. The multi-player modes just seem kind of tacked on and not really necessary.
Uncharted is a series to that many game franchises should always be, very very polished. The first one showed it had some great potential, then the second showed that it improved to a grand scale. No way is it overrated when the second game actually improved from its predecessor. Uncharted 3 is lookin to become even much beter than 2 and I know I'll have a blast when it comes out. Def top 10 greatest franchises on my list.
Uncharted is one of the best series in video game history.
The first one was good, it wasn't great, but it was a lot of fun and was a very thrilling adventure. The very first level where you get attacked on your boat immediately drew me in and from then on Nathan Drake has been my favorite video game character.
As for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, it stands as my all time favorite game. Everything about it is to die for, the graphics, the plot, the characters, and the gameplay are just perfect in my eyes. The only thing I can see de-throning UC2 is UC3, which I cannot wait for.
The first one was terrible. By the time the SPOILER spanish zombies came /SPOILER I was furious. The gameplay wasn't exactly exciting. Also the story was terrible toward the end.
The second was great though. The story was better and the gameplay wasn't unbearable.
No not at all but it is far from the best considering there is only 2 games well 3 in the franchise once Deception comes out.
I don't see how something based on opinion can be overrated. A lot of people love COD and personally I don't care for it at all but how could I say COD is overrated? Just because I don't share the same view as a group of people doesn't mean something is overrated.
The only thing that Uncharted series should do and I hope they do in part 3 is improve boss battles. Not necessarily make huge bosses but just make more bosses that are challenging.

I could say to, although I can't deny that beating Navarro down on that boat was epic. Lazarevic was meh.
I think it is . . . It's fun but the actual gameplay, which is the thing that actually matters feels just like a regular cover shooter, there aren't even any cool weapons to use and it doesn't evolve in any ways . . . Don't get me wrong it is still fun however most of it's prime aspects are just graphics, voice acting, story, numerous cutscenes and other little things that hardly even matter unless if graphics and immersive fators are your number one priority in a game . . . I'd rather play Killzone or Dark Souls . . .
I can swear someone is gonna bash on me for saying this but it's how I feel towards the game . . .
Honestly, I'd have to say it is. I don't want to because it's a defining title on the PS3 and many people buy consoles for it, but I just think that it has been overhyped. I know that many people may argue in favor for its graphics, storyline...etc but let's be honest here, it's an interactive movie and not a game. It may not be as structured or limited as Heavy Rain but it still lacks a level of freedom and interaction that I believe all games should have. This is similar in a way to the Call of Duty issue: Lots of nice scenes but not much "doing" if you catch my drift.
Uncharted 1 was great, good fun and I really did enjoy it.
Uncharted 2 was spectacular, everything about it was spot on. Great story, really great humor and the gameplay was kickass. I was also very pleasently surprised with the quality of the MP! So no, I don't think the series is overrated! Can't wait for number 3!
