I fully understand that for some people, the perks that the 60 gig unit has over the 20 are minimal, but you need to understand, that anyone that says you cannot get a "premium" experience with the 20gig version, is completely correct. That's not saying you cannot get a good experience or even a worthy and fullfilling experience, but premium is of the meaning of "The Best" and any way you want to slice it, the 60 gig version is a far better system.
To have enough space on your HDD to truly enjoy full HD downloads of movies, trailers and all that, you need the 60 gig version, 20 is gone in no time, atleast it is on my 360, I never even considered the 20gig PS3. 20 may be enough for some, maybe most even, but if I had to delete things to make room, and constantly manage how much content I could download, it would deter from my experience, so 60 is a must.
I have a PSP, but even if I didn't, I like the idea of having the card slots, I can stick in cards off a digital camera, and view pictures, and all kinds of things. With the PSP, it really enhances my experience with the system.
The Wifi is maybe not important to you, and I accept that it may not be the best choice for many, but again if your in an area that has stable speed, Wifi is a very cool and handy option to have. I have used it many times at home and at other peoples houses, and it's again without question a nice option.
The bottom line is, that for 100 bucks more, you cannot question the value that he premium unit offers, there is no debating that it's a better system, yes it depends on how well you can take advantage of the things it offers, but you cannot blame people that can take advantage of it for knocking the 20 gig unit which offers none of that stuff.
I can understand you being angry because you bought the cheaper unit and people never want thier stuff trash talked, and it serves your needs, but you need to suck it up and accept that the trash talking about the 20 gig over the 60 gig is pretty much deserved.
I got my system 2 weeks after launch. After calling stores daily i finally found a system. I wanted a 60 gig system but all they had was 1 20gig unit so i settled for it. I am not upset with my decision at all. Im sure eventaully i will upgrade my hard drive but i mean the overall gameplay and graphics are obviously identical so to me that is good enough. Everything that the 60gig system has can pretty much be up graded to fit the specs of the 60 gig unit if you have a 20 gig system. Anyways i have vented enough about this topic. And in my opinion for a person like me who is not a "Game Nerd" 20 gig system more than fits the bill for me. Peace all happy gaming to whatever system you have they are both great systems none the less.I fully understand that for some people, the perks that the 60 gig unit has over the 20 are minimal, but you need to understand, that anyone that says you cannot get a "premium" experience with the 20gig version, is completely correct. The people that really cut down the 20 gig are stupid spoiled kids who paid $0 for it. Yes $100 extra is nothing when mommy and daddy buy it. So to feel special or superior they make fun of the cheaper model. I got the 60 gig but I got love for the 20 gig. Just couldn't find one..... Hell if I can save $100 of my hard earned money why not? Extra hd space is nice but honestly unless you want to keep everything you DL who cares. USB memory card readers can be bought for $5 after rebate. Wifi is nice if you need it which I dont but may in the future. But you just have to remember this forum and website is over run by stupid kids. Many of whom act like they know everything but know just about nothing. Don't take them or this forum too seriously.crckHahaha no i know dude. I am not upset at all and i understand that most are children on here in which mom and dad buy them whatever they wish. I just had to get this topic off my chest ya know? But thanks for the back up yo!
Pure garbage! What do you mean you cannot get the same experience with the 20gig version? Like the guy said not everyone wants wifi (I sure don't) and not all of us have or even want a PSP so saving $100 and getting the 20gig model is a better choice. Who the hell needs a card reader?I fully understand that for some people, the perks that the 60 gig unit has over the 20 are minimal, but you need to understand, that anyone that says you cannot get a "premium" experience with the 20gig version, is completely correct.

Do most people have no idea about the differences from the 20 to 60 gig systems. Some guy comes on here and says you cant get the premium gaming expirience without a 60gig unit. Give me a break dude. 20 gig looks better without that cheesy chrome trim anywyas. So big deal you dont get wifi memory stick slots and a bigger HDD. For the extra $100 you can upgrade the HDD, wifi isnt as good of a connection as a hard connection anyways plus if you dont got a psp like me why do you really need the memory stick slots? Bottom line dont cut down the 20 gig model it is just as good as the 60 with a few less options which are not that important anyways pending your use for the system. abberz8383

They like to akin the 20gig & 60gig to MS core & premium packages and sine the core 360 was pretty much a shaft, they assume it's got to be the same with the PS3.
They fail to realise that the 20gig version was intended to be matched with the premium 360 and the 60gig was to be considered an "extra features" package. You can still get almost very thing the 60gig version has added on to the 20gig if you choose to but the good thing is you can choose which feature you'd like to upgrade. If you bought every feature for the 20gig that the 60gig has, it will cost you more than the 60gig but hey, the point is you can add the features you want if you want.
Xbots like to say Sony doesn't give choice but their logic is always mared it seems. I've realised that most of the population of people are just very ignorant and like it that way. :( I think xbots are so used to being shafted by MS that they think that's how it should be or something.

Such an intelligent post. The Core Xbox was marketed for those that do not have an internet connection or has no interest in online gaming. There are people in many countries that do not have access to broadband so paying for the Xbox premium would be a waste. Just like there are millions of people worldwide that do not have or cannot afford an HDTV so the Ps3 would be a waste. I also don't see your reasoning in bringing up the Xbox in this thread.

If it was such a great bargain then how come you don't see it manufactured any more. There maybe countries that don't have access to broadband much but chances are that if you bought a gaming device from those countries you most likely have the money, knowledge for Internet and access to it's usage. However, the core 360 wasn't just sold in Outer Mongolia, it was also marketed and sold in NA, Japan and EU were Internet connection is virtually a must have. And just because you don't have access to the Internet and don't play online doesn't mean you've got to settle for outdated stuff like wired controllers and no HDD space for your games.
Also, not having a HDtv for a PS3 is not a waste as PS3 games look great and better than anything else on any SDtv. As you point out, not everyone in other countries may have the funds or need for such things as Internet, HD viewing and the like. You don't need an HDtv to play a PS3. Lastly, I brought up the comparison of the consoles to point out why I feel people have the thought patterns they seem to have in regards to the topic at hand.

I still don't get your point. That is why it is called a choice. If they didn't have the money for the premium they could get the core then get a hard drive eventually unlike the PS3 20 gig where you cannot upgrade to get the card slots or wifi. yes not havign an HDTV with the PS3 is a waste because the only reason it cost so much is becuase it is a Blu ray player. Not having an HDTV means you just spent $600 on something you can only use for games hence not being able to use it's full potential.

I have not heard of any 3rd party wifi adaptors working but I am sure they exist. I doubt you will be able to use the psp connectivity with it though so it's not a full upgrade. You had ot compare it to the xbox core like they are related in some way.

DeihmosFirst of all MS is not giving choice really, they're giving false choice. Secondly, you can't upgrade the core box like you can the 20gig PS3 in regards to a HDD and, you can upgrade the Wifi and card slots on the 20gig. I guess you don't really know what you're talking about or just trying to get a raise from people like me.
Thirdly, if you don't have an HDtv the PS3 is only $100 more than the box and offers games to be developed on next gen DVD discs (Blu-ray) which in turn will give developers the chance to create incredible gaming experiences for gamers weather you play on HDtvs or SDtvs instead of past gen technology in DVDs like the box does.
At the end of the day if you can pay $399 for a gaming system then paying $499 is not a big deal seeing as you're get a better product that's future proof (cause I doubt anyone will be watching SDtvs 3years from now when HDtvs would cost the same or less than SDtvs and be the norm) and online is free instead of $250 for five years. Plus you get a Blu-ray player that if you wanted to 'add on' on a box you would actually be paying $100 more than the PS3. Ok I see you're just content on trolling so I'll just let you be and let the some of the PS3 forums troll slayers have their way with your ass. :)

PS2 had a problem with dual layer that's why most games were on multiple single layer disks. The early Ps2 models didn't have dual layer support or had a problem with playing dual layer disc. There were actually very few games on DVD9 for the PS2.
Bottom line dont cut down the 20 gig model it is just as good as the 60 with a few less options which are not that important anyways pending your use for the system. abberz8383The rpoblem a lot of people have is if your going to spend that much money on a system you might as well go the extra mile to get it all. The 20gig system isn't bad, but as many as stated before, the extra $100 goes a long way. The Wifi itself is worth that. You cn still have the full effect with the 20gig, but if someone could afford the extra money and get the 60gig then they should. Gamers game......Fanboys Pick Sides..........

correction my friend, WiFi is a plus!!! just figured out i didn't have to pay for another bridge and crap, the PS3 just picked up the signal and I am playin multiplayer online with ease...so don't bash the WiFi,...as far as everything else, you are right, you do get the same gaming experience, but i feel a few of us on here can agree that having WiFi was one of the key feautures...
YOUTUBE NEVER LOOKED ANY BETTER...LOL
