Dude, Internet connection is not the only thing screwed about the 360 core and you know it. If it was such a great bargain then how come you don't see it manufactured any more. There maybe countries that don't have access to broadband much but chances are that if you bought a gaming device from those countries you most likely have the money, knowledge for Internet and access to it's usage. However, the core 360 wasn't just sold in Outer Mongolia, it was also marketed and sold in NA, Japan and EU were Internet connection is virtually a must have. And just because you don't have access to the Internet and don't play online doesn't mean you've got to settle for outdated stuff like wired controllers and no HDD space for your games.[QUOTE="Deihmos"]Such an intelligent post. The Core Xbox was marketed for those that do not have an Internet connection or has no interest in online gaming. There are people in many countries that do not have access to broadband so paying for the Xbox premium would be a waste. Just like there are millions of people worldwide that do not have or cannot afford an HDTV so the Ps3 would be a waste. I also don't see your reasoning in bringing up the Xbox in this thread.chubear700
Also, not having a HDtv for a PS3 is not a waste as PS3 games look great and better than anything else on any SDtv. As you point out, not everyone in other countries may have the funds or need for such things as Internet, HD viewing and the like. You don't need an HDtv to play a PS3. Lastly, I brought up the comparison of the consoles to point out why I feel people have the thought patterns they seem to have in regards to the topic at hand.
You do realize that the majority of internet users in NA are dialup? It seems like you believe that all internet users in developed countries all have high speed. Well most consumers don't have it and that was one of the reason for the core. Please do some background research before saying things that are not 100% accurate.
Also remember that millions of kids play games and I can say for a fact that some of my friends kids have the core mostly since they do not have high speed nor do they need it. Everyone's gaming experience will be different and to say that everyone must have is b.s.
I purchased the 20 gig mainly because my other console has a direct connection to my pc to get my pics, movies music easily. The ps3 for me was for games and for blu ray movies on my home theater. I don't use wifi, I had no use for the card readers, which by the way I have on my pc which like I said before is connected to my other console. Everyone will have a different reason why they picked the 20 vs. the 60. Neither received a lesser product depending on their need.
