To Anyone planning on getting MGS4 Bundle.. Madden Bundle on the way

I talked to a sales man at Sony Store today and he said the Sony Sales rep (who came in on Friday) told him that they wont be shipping any new shipments of the 80gb bundle as it was only a limited time thing. Sucks for me, i was gonna sell my 40gb for $400 and get the MGS4 one, but i guess im out of luck.

He did say there will be a Madden 09 bundle coming in August (time of release of game), and the console will be blue. I have no links, but Im goin on word from a Sony sales rep, which holds a lot more water than most things you see around here

no, they plan on doin it for PS3 as well,, thats what the Sony rep said. Im guessing Sony is trying to tap into the American market, something theyve been slaughtered by in sales compared to 360

Did he tell you what sized hard drive? How much? I'd rather have a bundle of NCAA Football instead of Madden, but it's not like you can make your own bundle.

If the PS3 sells even half as many consoles as 360 did in NA by 2010, i'll be a very surprised man. M$ really pulled a fast one on sony by releasing a year early

Sony will be releasing more 80GB bundle. Here is their exact statement.

"While we can't provide specifics on inventory levels, the Metal Gear Solid 4 PlayStation 3 bundle is a limited edition offering that's experiencing high demand from Metal Gear and PlayStation enthusiasts. We're pleased with the strong consumer interest in the bundle and are working to ensure that additional shipments are provided to retailers."

The 80gb PS3 is not permenant... however more MGS4 80gb bundles are being shipped...

The difference in cost between the 80gb + MGS4 and the 40gb is less than the $85 mark-up / $100 - MGS4 price($15?).

Also why wouldn't SONY choose to sell more bundles to american retailers whom are happy to buy a ton of stock... afterall manufacturing 80k bundles costs more per console than 200k bundles ....
