Are your batteries still full of charge ? If their already dead how long did your controller last?

I just got curious because the last time I heard, i would need to replace the whole controller when the batteries die out

Thanks for da help!!!

Mine works great. Lasts me for hours and hours. Longest I played was like 10 hours and it dropped down one bar only. I usually plug it in my computer when I go to sleep so they're always fully charged.

The battery still charges fine for me but i've worn out the controller...right now i'm useing a PS2 controller with an adapter. Kind of nice to be able to do that though. As long as i'm ok without rumble and motion control I can pick up controllers for ten bucks all day long... My sixaxis is about a year old. I can still use it if I don't mind turning to the right all the time.

My charge is still as good as it was when PS3 launched. The only issue I've had is that one of my controllers was thrown/dropped dozens of times and the left stick on that one is extremely loose. I bought a DualShock 3 last week to replace it. But in the interest of staying on topic, the charge is just fine still on my launch Sixaxes after literally thousands of hours worth of play although, to my knowledge, IF they die on you, you have to get new ones.

The thing is the controller will wear-out before the battery does. I think I saw a place that if the battery happens to die it can be replaced for just a few dollars.

yes there are guides on the internet to do so.

Mines are 10 months old, no problems, except one that my young cousing grabbed, so he dirtied it and now the buttons are sticky, so I guess I will have to do "operation sixaxis" and clean it :P.-

I had 3 originally. One died about 6 months into owning a PS3, another is on it's way out. It justified me going out and buying DS controllers.

i got my PS3 after launch but my original SIXAXIS was replaced because the joysticks wouldnt move. the battery still lasted very long but my controller would be dropped a bunch of times when me and my brothers would take turns playing Warhawk. when the new controllers were launched i bought two rumble controllers.

Mine are both fine. As far as the battery it's user replacable anyway. You can buy a battery for it for $9 online. And it's just 5 screws to open the controller.

Another question to ppl who have DS controllers and SIXAXIS, do you guys feel a difference in the analog sticks?

I don't even use my one and only sixaxis controller wireless. I have had no problems at all. hey zeke2040, what is up with you having 8 controllers. aren't controllers like $50 or more? you forum people have got a lot of cash. I won't even buy a second controller because of the cost. Then again I play by myself 99.5% of the time so I don't need one. Still though 8, man I never thought I would here of anyone having that many. I do have a gamepad for my pc which is a knock off of a ps2 controller and has airflow, but it is noise and the only reason I got that was because it was the only controller I could find that had the D pad by itself without that circle part around it that other gamepads have.

I went 9+ hours strait, and had plenty left "one bar."

And im still on the same one. A tad worn, kinda loose. But works still well.

They are lithium batteries, once made they got a limited shelf life. they die a little faster now. I'd say they last 2-3 years

My batteries are perfect. the only problem is that my analogue sticks are off center due to the constant battering of cod 4.

I have had a replacement controller and I have only had my ps3 since january. My 1yr old son decided he would dribble and bite the controller. Sony replaced it without a problem and it was returned within 2days of me sending it to sony
