Too many trophies = Hound, Not enough Trophies = Noob

Trophies have not helped gamers, it certainly has not. I have about 320 trophies and the other day I wsa called a trophy hound by a friend because I have far more then him, he has like 80. Now if that wasn't bad enough I was also called a trophy noob because this other gamer had way more trophies then me. SERIOUSLY!? is this what trophies have turned us into? it's gonna be really hard enjoying games when other gamers are constantly gonna judge you on the amount of trophies you have. There is no middle ground, no such number where trophies become acceptable, if you have more then another gamer you are a trophy hound and if you have less you're a trophy noob :(

Damn you Sony! you turned gamers into trophy addicts who constantly judge others!!!!

I feel bad though since I don't have a lot. I just recently got into playing hardcore for them even though I have had the ps3 since launch lol

I don't care about trophies. Sometimes I've noticed people playing the games for the trophies and not actual value.

Trophies ans Achevements have helped me get more out of each game, even if its just for bragging rights, thats what we all did before anyway, it jest keeps a log thats all

Well I am a noob, but only because I just got a ps3. I have bought alot of games but few of them have trophies so my trophy count is not going to go that high. Also trophy hunting for me is somehting you do only when you have nothing else to play, I have so many story lines in games to complete at the moment which don't have trophies so trophies are not important to me at the moment. In the near future however I may hunt a few down unless I get a new game

So as if race and religion aren't grounds enough for prejudicial slander now there's trophies. Awesome! To be honest I don't care because I am aware of my gaming habits, and why I am a gamer and it's not because of trophies.

Only 320 trophies!!! lol quit complaining and get to work Swift nobody likes to hear a noob whine. :P In all honesty don't worry about it man it sounds like an isolated incident. Maybe they were just trying to rattle your chain? I have plenty of friends who have way more or a lot less trophy's then me on my friends list. And nobody really questions each others game integrity for the amount of trophy's they have. So I wouldn't worry about a few people talking smack. Play the games you like and if you want to get the trophies for them more power to you, if you don't feel like getting them coolits still all good. :D

I agree... in my opinion trophies have made thε games worse and the gamers fanatical & unstoppable. I play PS3 games just for fun. I don't care about earning trophies, neither me nor any of my friends. Ok, ok we are all trophy noobs... So what...?

Well, change your friends I guess? I have never been judged by the amount of trophies I have in a bad light, the only comments I get are things like "Wow you got a new level", "grats for plating xy" or "how did you get trophy xy, any tips?"

I don't mind trophies.. i will never go for a trophy but when they do pop up... its kinda cool.. same with achievements

320 sounds normal because I have around that much as well. If around a thousand or two then I"d consider calling someone a hound...not really.

I have been called a noob and "somebody who plays too much" while at 5th prestige in CoD4

I usually just try to Platinum the games that I really enjoy opposed to those games that I dont enjoy.
