okay but still at first i was very excited about this "new MGS" for PS3 now im just not gonna get my hopes up... starting now, im just going to prepare for the worse and assume its an MGS4 port for 360... look at what we have... what looks like MGS4 raiden the letters BO360 PS3 and R i think right? if X appears we can assume that this announcement involves 360.... No. Don't you think that the letters would have more to do with the game than what console it's on? That is, of course, a rhetorical question.
The good news is, The prior games are not going to the 360, therefore, the story is still incomplete or very tough to understand for those who only own a 360.
Edit: I realized my statement came off a little fanboyish, so let me add this: This is not a heavy-hitting announcement, the series is picking up way too late for us to feel like Kojima "betrayed" us, which he did not.
just as good really. mgs4 is kind of forgotten about. I mean it still has its flaming group of fanboys. But for the most people are over it. Any mgs game to go multi-plat is a win for the 360. (don't flame me. I own and enjoy all 3 of my systems!...ok I liked. my wii sits collecting dust)

........i knew hideo was going to show up, how did I know that...but then again metal gear has been on the xbox before and this isn't' a port, I'm guessing its what raiden has been doing prior to mgs4. No biggie...........this microsoft conference has been meh, They basically in a polite way trash their competition. that's why i really don't care for microsoft...... but i'm not to upset by this, but this is going to make us hardcore mgs fans, think about getting a 360 just to play this title

lol, you should calm down a bit. Metal Gear: Rising seems to be just a branch of the overall MGS timeline, focusing on Raiden (who I really like). Chances are, another installment could be announced tomorrow, regarding the "5" on the teaser site.

this MS press conference has been very bland. Even the MGS announcement lacked any real pop. The do slight their competition here and there. But I can get by that. I just was hoping for more. Hopefully Sony has some good stuff tomorrow.

So you think the letters on the site meant that it was going to xbox 360? Plus, this has nothing to do with MGS4.
There is still no guarantee that MGS:R is a complete exclusive to the 360, we'll still have to wait for the Sony conference for that. If it is, MGS: R is probably going to be more of a spin off than a true MGS5, which will most likely stay on the PS3. It doesn't make sense to give a direct continuation of the franchise to a console that has none of the previous backstory.
i dont know about any of you lot but i would love to get the chance to play gears of war on my ps3, its the only game i wish i had that i know i wont :(

Their making this Game Because Kojima was breaking his back trying to make MGS4 and couldnt! so in come the ghetto Raiden game, ubtill they make the better version on the ps3 *cough* *Ninja Gaiden* *cough*
Calm down people. Kojima has denied this like 3 times already. First, it probably won't be developed by Kojima or Konami, it will probably be some **** third party company, kinda like Halo Wars was. Second, it probably isn't MGS4, it will be some spin-off, again like Halo Wars was/is. I'm not gonna buy it anyway. I bought the MGS4 PS3 bundle and sold MGS4 soon after.
