go back there and make a HUGE deal about it.mjk_1this x10000000 this is unacceptable. unless the TC is lying to us, which is entirely possible. assuming he's being honest, he needs to unleash hell. make a spectacle out of it. see how long he stands his ground once he sees you mean it.
Here are the steps to ensure success. For reference, I'm a cheap 15 year old Indian (from INDIA) with very money conscious parents. I also hate Wal-Mart for the shoddy service and quality of goods.
1. Find an Indian person who is successful
2. Tell him of your ordeal
3. Get him to come to store with you
4. ???
5. Profit
Well do you blame the manager when he probably has to deal with 100s of deceitful customers a day? The nature of most people is to try and take advantage and scam anyone you can.[QUOTE="Sol-R"]it's Wal-Mart. Take it to a different Wal-Mart or go when that manager is not on duty. I'm sorry, but if I had actually bought it new...and a manager tried to tell me I didn't...I'd light into him. it's not a point of debate, you know?CajunShooter
Anyway the moral of the story is never buy expensive stuff at Wal-Mart. If something is wrong with it they can do anything about it. If you need help with it they can't do anything to help you. If it is something that you can get at a specialty store you are better getting it there and then being able to get decent assistance when any problems you may have. Its your own fault for buying an expensive product at Wal Mart. Stick to buying cheap clothes and food at Wal-Mart and buying all your electronics at a specialty store.
i dont know man. i have always had good luck with wallmart. 90 day return policey ect. my first ps3 was not right, i returned it about 4 weeks latter. they opened the box, checked that every thing was in there and gave me my money back. what happend to the TC could have happend at any store. gamestop bestbuy ect. what happend is eather somebody or an employee pulled a switch and got away with it and the TC was unlucky and got stuck with it.[QUOTE="soyt_llusala"]You should have tested/checked the unit at the store before purchasing. It is our right as a customer. That is sad but I think it's your fault.KABCOOLR U Serious Who the hell opens up the box in the store to see if its alright. Agreed.
No, he should get a new PS3, since that is what he paid for.You should just change the HD and forgive n forget. ;)

the barcode will have data from when it was made, and in wich the reciept they gave you has got the date you brought the ps3 and serial codes n stuff, so if it was a 2007 model, and the reciept says you bought it in 2009, then they should 100 percent give you a refund or exchange coz its obvious where the mistake is, they should have given you a new one in the first place, not a dam 2007 model lolB-L-I-N-G-A-HYou my friend has solved the case! Be a lawyer good sir!
[QUOTE="soyt_llusala"]You should have tested/checked the unit at the store before purchasing. It is our right as a customer. That is sad but I think it's your fault.DiddiesWho does that? Most of the time when people buy stuff especially new expect to go home and use it. No one opens it right there in the store. i did that :|
I'll be the lawyer. I have no degree and I charge $400 an hour. They sold you one that's apparently been in the back, stocked since launch, not used.
Go to Wal Mart's website and look for a number you can call about this.
Otherwise, I'd suggest legal action.

[QUOTE="Chaos_Bladez"]That is so wrong. Go back in there and complain, complain, complain. Getting it used when it is "new" is one thing, but getting it "new" and broken is different. I don't know how old you are but if you are a bit younger, get your mom or dad in there with you. This isn't right.DeathTemplarhe's 25. it was mentioned earlier on in the thread. bring your friends in and all shout at the manager, this is seriously weak
