Ok guys, you knew that this topic was coming. 2 games that are goty (well UC2 will prolly soon be). Here is my comparison...
Story = Metal Gear Solid 4
Gameplay = It depends on what type of game you like
Graphics = Uncharted 2
Multiplayer = Uncharted 2
Sound = Metal Gear Solid 4
Replay Value = Uncharted 2
Cinematic Immersiveness... (This is probably the HARDEST category since they are both the two best games that have done it) = MGS4 by a fraction!!!!!
Overall = MGS4... Gameplay was a tie, but the edge was the story, and MGS4 MP aint half bad so it came down to the story for me.

MGS4 has a deep and convoluted story, but without profound knowledge of the entire Metal Gear franchise it's almost impossible to understand and appreciate MGS4' story. Uncharted 2 on the other hand does not and is far more accessible to gamers (especially ones that missed out on the first game), and still offers a great story.
Both games had solid gameplay, but MGS4 wasn't as linear as Uncharted 2. Despite this Uncharted 2 does have a better sense of survival compared to MGS4, but MGS4 does excel in combat because there's far more variety. Both games are equal in this sense.
Uncharted 2 certainly has the superior graphics and it's pure eye candy, but consider that Uncharted 2 JUST came out whereas MGS4 is and older PS3 title.
I've only played MGSO and it wasn't bad, but until I've played Uncharted 2 online then I can't make a judgement call on the multiplayer front.
The audio output of both games are fantastic, but I believe that Uncharted 2 has the better sound quality because everything is crystal clear. I DID experience a couple of odd abnormalities in the MGS4 audio that didn't bother me too much, but it was in fact noticable.
Both games have a significant replay value because in the case of MGS4 the game is almost guaranteed to play differently with each play through, and Uncharted 2 has more unlockables then you can shake a stick at, and then pile multiplayer on top of that and it's win-win for both games. The various difficulties also boost replay value, but the crown goes to Uncharted 2 considering that at the moment it DOES have trophies. Trophies alone amp up replay value 3 fold.
One thing I cannot stand is painfully long cinematics and MGS4 is no exception here. Granted they were entertaining, but they seemed to drag on and I'm not an extremely patient person. 10 minutes I can handle... a half hour is outright ridiculous. Uncharted was pretty quick to the point and didn't drag on. I've been known to play games sporting lengthy cinematics, but you better believe it's not without complaints.
Overall both games have their pros and cons, but I didn't care for MGS4 to be honest.
