Ok guys, you knew that this topic was coming. 2 games that are goty (well UC2 will prolly soon be). Here is my comparison...

Story = Metal Gear Solid 4
Gameplay = It depends on what type of game you like
Graphics = Uncharted 2
Multiplayer = Uncharted 2
Sound = Metal Gear Solid 4
Replay Value = Uncharted 2
Cinematic Immersiveness... (This is probably the HARDEST category since they are both the two best games that have done it) = MGS4 by a fraction!!!!!

Overall = MGS4... Gameplay was a tie, but the edge was the story, and MGS4 MP aint half bad so it came down to the story for me.

gamerlifegrace

IMO it is

Story =Uncharted 2 (For the Average Gamer.Long time MGS fans willprefer MGS4 story)
Gameplay = Probably about a tie... Many things annoyed me about MGS though, like not knowing how to get from point A to point B because every possible path seems blocked off and the AI never stops respawning, so if you draw alert near a spawn point, you're screwed (and MGS4 story can be completed in under 5 hours if you rush and skip cutscenes, although it took me 20 hours for my first playthrough)
Multiplayer = Uncharted 2
Sound = Metal Gear Solid 4
Replay Value = Uncharted 2 (by far. I planned to do a second playthrough of MGS but lost interest by the end of act 1)
Cinematic Immersiveness = MGS4 by miles. Uncharted 2 cinematics are amazing, and I love them. BUT any game compared to MGS4 in terms of cinematic immersiveness is going to get thrashed. MGS4 has the best cutscenes I have ever seen. The final cutscene before the end is nothing short of epic.

Overall = Uncharted 2. It is a more casual game anybody can enjoy. MGS4 is also a masterpiece, and those who enjoy it probably like it more than Uncharted, but the range of players it appeals to is relatively small compared to U2. Both games are must haves. (maybe a rent for MGS4, as it doesn't have much replay value)

Well honestly I've played both, I felt more involved in Uncharted 2 and I felt that technologically it had a better engine and better graphics to a degree. However, in terms of story, MGS4 is better if you've played the first few but I only played MGS3, did a little background research on the story of the other 2, and still felt it did just as good of job as explaining and telling the story as did Uncharted 2 did. For this reason, and the fact that it was the first game I played on the PS3, I felt I enjoyed MGS4 better than Uncharted 2. Don't get me wrong, Uncharted 2 is great, and in terms of getting you involved in the game transitionally, it kicks MGS4's butt, as well as having a farbetter online mode. MGO wasn't terrible but it can easily be seen more attention went into the story than the balance of story and multiplayer Uncharted 2 presented. I am personally more of a guy who likes to play a little, and be stealthy, and then enjoy the intense action of a cut-scene. So here are my ratings:

Story: MGS4 if you do a little research for the other 3 games, otherwise Uncharted 2

Multiplayer: Uncharted 2 definitely, though there is a uniqueness to the stealth in MGO

Graphics: Uncharted 2, well what can you expect? Its much newer and MGS4 was the first Metal Gear on the PS3, although the graphics in MGS4 are more artistically based, and textures have smoother, less edgy detail.

Immersiveness: Uncharted 2 definitely, MGS4 is more cut-scene based and is not too immersive, Uncharted 2 feels like you're in a hollywood blockbuster movie

Gameplay: Toss up between the two, what one lacks in the other one generally has. I guess more of a preference

Sound: MGS4, with Harry Gregson-Williams behind the music, MGS4 can't lose, in addition to fairly good gun-fire sounds

Replay Value: Again a preference, Uncharted 2 has treasure to go back and look for, and MGS4 has emblems to earn, no trophies though for MGS4 D:

Overall: MGS4, both are great games but I enjoyed MGS4 more, maybe it's because I had PS3 hype since I bought it with my PS3

They are both great games but I think that MGS4 is overated, besides gameplay and graphics, it doesn't live up to previous MGS games. I think that Uncharted 2 wins in every way.

Story: Uncharted 2 (MGS4's story was meh this time around. It wasn't well written and had a horrible ending.)

Gameplay: Uncharted 2 (They both have some good gameplay but MGS4 can be beat in 3 hours and Uncharted 2's is just more fun.)

Graphics: Uncharted 2 (Do I really need to explain myself?)

Voice Acting: Uncharted 2 (I think this game has the best voice acting out of any video game, even better than Mass Effect 2. MGS4's on the other hand was occasionally over done and not believable.)

Sound Effects: MGS4 (Uncharted 2's were great, but MGS4's were excellent. So much detail.)

Soundtrack: Uncharted 2 (They both have great soundtracks but I like U2's more.)

Online: Uncharted 2 (MGO was alright but U2 has fantastic multiplayer. I like it better than MW2 and it's almost as good as COD4.)

Story - MGS4 Even though it is confusing as hell ???

Gameplay - MGS4 Even though there is only like 5 hours of it, it is still more varied and fun

Sound - MGS4 Can't mess with a MGS Soundtrack

Graphics - MGS4 It looks way better to me, and after playing UC2 to the point of no return, I have to say I don't get why people call it graphics king.

Replay Value - UC2 You can't mess with 5 playthroughs.

Online - UC2 - Metal Gear Online is a pathetic joke, why did they even include it in the game ???

Cutscenes - MGS4 - Yeah, even though some of the custscenes make you feel like you just got punched in the nuts, some of them are still the best thing you have ever seen in your life.
