uncharted does not deserve the praise some give it

just finished played uncharted 2, took me two days to beat on hard.

i have to say it does not deserve the high praise it recives

dont get me wrong, the graphics are nice, and most of the charecters have good development and structure but lets point out the flaws

the cover shoot system is flawed and boring, the jumping system is flawed, you dont do much but cover shoot, solve an easy puzzle and climb....

i must say on a posotive the second one is better than the first but i still dont see the GOTY and some people saying best game ever dont see it

i think it one of the best games of all time. it´s like a action movie with Dolph Lundgren mixed with indiana jones

you said it. it's your opinion. I contrary to most people was amazed at the voice acting more than anything else and it deserves GOTY.

With this thread you are only asking for a battering of words. Its just your opinion. I stress the word "Just" since you are the first person I have ever seen who finds Uncharted 2 to gain too much praise.

If you finished it in 2 days you must have liked it somewhat. I'm not saying it's incredibly hard but I'd guess it took you aroun d10 hours to complete. I'd never spend 5 hours a day playing a game I didn't absolutely love. I loved Uncharted 2 but I completed it in just under a week.Michael622

i looked at it two days ago and was like ehhhhh guess ill play it and beat it as fast as possible so i dont have a feeling ofa wasteof my money, and get back to ds at the same time

So you don't like the game because it too short, the puzzles are easy, the game play is repetitive. But you gree that the graphics are good. Hmm, seems like an odd opinion for someone with a God of War sig.....

i would have to agree with you, this game just didnt immerse me into the story nor into the gameplay. Yes the graphics were VERY nice, but the game itself just wasnt my cup of tea.

I think it's the same as I say that call of duty is a crapy game and I don't know why people play it... But I myself don't like fps much so I can't realy say how good or bad the game is. If you take tomb rider and games like that and think if uncharted is better than them I think you will see that it's some what better than those games. And no this isn't the only thing way to think why some game is good or bad but it's a good start. I for one don't realy like assasin creed serie much but I can't say it's realy not worth the hype. To me it isn't realy.

well i belive that this game was just to much hype....i was so hyped to play it that when i did it was like mehhh

you can not enjoy a game without going along with the games emotions and uncharted didnt make me do that it was just mehh jump to another cliff, o no chloe betrayed me meh, solve another puzzle meh

It's not GameSpots game of the year so it deserved whatever praises it got here.

From your last thread its obvious that you went into it looking for flaws or were expecting to be floored which is just wrong. I, like many of my friends, liked it a lot. It doesn't do anyhting new but does everything right which is a good thing in my books and for millions of other gamers.

Respect is earned, not up for demand.

i dont agree. but i do respect your opinion. i think MW2 is overrated and boring as spit and hated the fact that i wasted 67 bucks. but hey!!! thats an opinion.

I agree that it is overhyped. A great game, I loved it. I'll never forget the train sequence.

But not an all-time game. Its story held no twists, its villain was meh, and the platforming was inconsistent (I was literally floating sidways to make some jumps, while dying on others despite it looking plausible.) You're pretty much on rails with only one way to advance the level. It's more like a movie where, if one thing is done contrary to the script, the director yells "cut! cut! we're filming that over again-- get it right this time!"

I liked the game and it is one of the better games I have played. I didn't worry about analysing the cover system, I just went with it.

Could the game be better? Of course it could, no game is prefect, but this one was enjoyable.

I can see how the TC didn't care much for the cover system and stuff like that. I did enjoy the game immensely myself and actually just finished last night. The gameplay was solid and I REALLY enjoyed the story! It's only the second game in the last 7 months that I have beat the whole way through (I normally just rent games or buy games for the MP) so that should count for something.

I believe it is GOW3 that is truely over-hyped, the tech demo bored me and thats only 10-15 mins long.

I honestly can not find a single flaw in Uncharted 2 ( but a run button would have been nice). The story is probably the only video game story I have ever really been interested in. It was better than I expected.

So this is your opinion... My opinion is that UC2 is one of the best PS3 games. It's not the best for me but it's definitely my second and after GΩW3 comes out it will be my third. But it's very epic. The whole game is like you are watching a movie and it gives you very successfully the feelind of a real adventure.

But the shooting system could be better... better zoom system, more accurate etc...

Out of everyones opinions, objectively, UC2 is in TOP 3 of all PS3 games...

I think 9.5 is a very reasonable score. 9.0 at the very least. What would you rate it?

I thought the first Uncharted was pretty good, but Uncharted 2 was awesome. Just a big improvement over the original. I thought the gameplay was a bit smoother, and the story was much more intense and entertaining. I'm not a gigantic fan of the series, but I'd definitely welcome a 3rd installment.

Well its your own opinion and you can't force people to agree with you. I know for sure there is no way you can convince me Uncharted 2 didn't deserve the praise it got. Its a wonderful game.

I haven't tried the second one. But I've played a demo of the first game and didn't care much for it.
